Bio

Anthony Changes is an unsigned American rapper from South Florida. Born the youngest of 3 children to Puerto Rican parents, Changes fell in love with music early on. His mother worked as a manager at a record store for several years, so music was never in short supply. Much of what influenced him came in the form of cassette tapes with gold lettering, labeling them “Promotional Use Only.”
His father worked for the county and believed in the phrase, “If you do what you have to, you can do what you want to.” So the weekends were reserved for barbecuing and watching his father play “Plena” with his friends at the park. These casual jam sessions every week would later become paid gigs at Jimmy’z Kitchen, and serve as inspiration for Changes to follow his own dreams when the time was right.
Changes relied on music heavily after Hurricane Andrew destroyed everything but his family at age 7. With nothing but time, and a portable tape player, Changes found solace in replacing words in popular songs with his own. Before long, this simple hobby would grow into something much larger than he ever expected. But first, there were things he had to do.
Changes graduated high school with accolades such as, “Class Clown” and “Most Likely to be a Comedian,” but went on to graduate from FAU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing, and ironically, became a middle school teacher right before the collapse of the U.S. Economy. Three years into this rewarding career, and budget cuts finally pulled his card. Being another name on a long list of layoffs didn’t hinder Changes nearly as much as it empowered him. The time was right. He had done what he had to do. It was time to do what he wanted to.
Changes has been hard at work since deciding to pursue music full time. He’s worked with Singer / Songwriter David Bush, on tracks for both of their projects. He’s been given the opportunity to write for artists around the globe. He’s released a mixtape by the name of “FreeWorld,” and is currently working on his followup project called “Funemployment,” slated for a summer 2013 release.
