Wound up here

Written By: anthony classen

Wound up here

She asked Daddy how come
Williams drives a new car
He’s got a great big house
With a huge front yard
Then there’s old Pommie Jack
Who has worked his whole life
With so little to show
Cept calased hands and a shack down the road

Chorus
And I said
Everything they’ve done
Every drop of sweat
Every toss of the coin
They’ll never forget
That’s how they’ve wound up here
After all those years
Of taking chances and having a go
That’s how they’ve would up here

She asked daddy how come.
Their selling off their farm
Been in the family for years
Bankers grin
While they sheddin tears

While at the footy club
With past champions on the wall
The ol boys still love to sing
Bout the finals of 74

Chorus

She asked Daddy how come
Down at the RSL. At six everynight
They turn down all the lights
And with hands on our hearts
We say lest we forgetWe remember the Anzacs
We remember our past

And I said
Every weary digger
Vietnam vet
Peace keeping force
We can never forget

Cause that’s how we wound up here
After all those years
Of taking chances and having a go
Of putting it in or helping a mate.
Steping up or speaking out
Australia has wound up here

Cause that’s how we wound up here
After all those years
Of taking chances and having a go
that’s how we wound up here

Get Used To It

Get used to it written by Anthony Classen

So you wanna move in
You say you like my style
You’ve heard about me
Heard I’m a little wild

Well its taken me a while to get where I am
I’m not letting go, I’m holding on as long as I can

Chorus
I like a good steak
Having a beer with a mate
Hitting the beach on Sunday
And I like Christmas
I like two up on Anzac day
And when I hear kids sing our National Anthem

Sorry, You’ve got a problem with that
It doesn’t sit right with you
Well you know what you can do….yea
Get used to it
You’re gonna have to get used to it
If you wanna hang round here
Get used to it

Been here a million years
Dreaming all that time
I’m not gonna change
Or let my principles slide

Proud of who I am and the way that I live
The respect you’ll receive is the same as you give
