"Blues On Stage"

"Jim Gaines's production of Unity is as phenominal as his work for Santana, Walter Trout and Luther Allison and will surely have similar career results for Gomes...Want to enjoy tomorrow's blues today? Then unite with the steamy, hip-grindin', funkified blues of Anthony Gomes." - Tim Holek

"Banditbluesradio.com"

"Best CD of the Year... One of the Top 30 Essential blues CDs of all time... Unity should put him over the top as a guitar god." - Banditbluesradio.com

"Tower Records"

"A bold and original melding of Blues and Rock...the type of music making that leaves fans breathless. A no risk disc." - Tower Records

"Kansas City Blues Society"

"Gomes knows how to milk an audience without pandering or resorting to sensationalism. He doesn't rip off his shirt off or go walking on bars to incite an audience. He performs. At a certain point it's like church...but it's not a shallow, white boy emulation. Somehow Anthony Gomes has internalized that black church gospel experience and lets it out as well as any church schooled performer." - Kansas City Blues Society

"Downbeat"

"Gomes persues his passions with a musical intelligence that places him way ahead of the other blues hellions igniting the Fender Fretboard." - Downbeat

"Salt Lake City Weekly"

"Anthony Gomes may look like just another skinny white dude, but the gutbucket soul and funkified R&B he throws down is phat beyond all appearances—factor in some scorching Stratocaster skills, and you've got a serious mojo mofo." - Salt Lake City Weekly

"92.7 The Zoo, Brother Ken"

"Anthony Gomes's Unity by far surpasses all others. Blues Album of the Year! Song of the year - Darkest Before the Dawn." - Waitt Media Kansas

"Dan "Elwood Blues" Ackroyd"

"Looks like this may be the one to break his career much wider...The record brings together Anthony Gomes's searing guitars and vocals, a blistering horn section, gospel choruses, some quite acoustic moments, alot of funk, alot of soul, a whole lotta blues..." - House of Blues Radio Hour

"The Clarksdale Press Register"

"His voice morphs to music. One minute Anthony Gomes sounds like Otis Redding. Next breath, he's Robert Plant crossed with Delbert McClinton. On every song, however, Gomes is all roots." - The Clarksdale Press Register

"Deepbluereview"

"Blues CD of the Year. ***** In a world of Stevie Ray Vaughan impersonators, it is always refreshing to hear a young artist with his own style and fresh ideas" - Amazon.com
