Bio

Everyone who hears Anthony Monaco’s music says the same thing: “I can’t believe this isn’t on the radio.” Spending his time writing, arranging, engineering, producing, directing, and singing his music has left little time left over for promotion. Now its time to change that.

A true lover of music but also a staunch music critic, Anthony Monaco writes the music he wishes he heard on the radio. Enjoying styles from Metal, to Pop, to big band Swing, you can hear all of these influences in his creations. There is an intriguing range of styles in his songs. From the poppy acoustic up-tempo “Gimme Luv” to the more tempered and thoughtful “Impressions” to the hard-edge of “Long Way To Go”, Anthony Monaco covers a range of emotions.

“Most of my music seems like a normal, simple pop/rock song; but that’s a trick. That’s not really what’s going on at all.” The careful listener will discover a lush and complex instrumental arrangement and thought-provoking lyrics, cleverly masked in an easily digestible pop veil. What I hate more than anything are all these songs out there about ‘ooh-baby, baby’ and such. I’m cool with a song about love but have something interesting to say. If people are going to sit down and listen to you, you should have something original or important to tell them.”

In his previous band, Loophole, he won a solid fan base through live performances playing at a slew of downtown Seattle music venues including the Central Saloon, the Fenix, culminating with a sold-out Saturday night at the Triple Door. Returning with a newly revamped band, Anthony has been impressing audiences all over Seattle in such venues as the Showbox at the Market, El Corazon, the High Dive, ToST, the Jet, and the Merchant. With an album in the plans the future is looking better than ever for the band.
