Anthony Pacheco

Anthony Pacheco first discovered his passion for music at a very young age. When he was in fourth grade, his father took him to see his older cousin play football. He memorized the melody of the high school fight song and played it on his amateur keyboard at home. His parents realized his musical talents and abilities and bought him a more complex keyboard so he can further pursue his passions. When he was in 6th grade he began playing tuba and bass guitar in the school band. Music would take him from music competitions in San Antonio, Texas and Denver, Colorado to marching in the New Year’s Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California with his high school marching band. He began playing bass guitar in bands as a sophomore in high school and his junior year he clicked with a group named ‘Cica’ (see-kuh). Cica became a small town hit for the youth culture and local music community, always packing out bars and clubs before they were even legally old enough to enter a bar. Cica agreed they could expand their fan base if they moved to a bigger city. So in the course of a year, each original member would eventually make their way to Albuquerque, New Mexico. After a year in Albuquerque, in their journey to grow as musicians and discover their own sound, Cica merged with a local artist to become ‘Rosenhymn.’ Anthony, who was on the bass guitar and keyboards for Rosenhymn, began to realize how their sound was rapidly becoming widely recognized among local artists and the music community. Among the many accomplishments of the group include recording and distributing a full length album, playing in Las Vegas, Nevada, and earning the respect of the art community in Albuquerque. The group went their separate ways the summer of 2008. Anthony found himself returning to the town he grew up in, Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he continued to pursue his music career, but this time around as a solo artist where he also began a few musical projects. He currently plays out of Las Cruces and his shows are considered by many as a ‘theatrical experience.’ Anthony describes himself as ‘easily inspired’ and his influences range from The Mars Volta to Pink Martini, from Danny Elfman to Tim Reynolds. His unique sound and zealous performance combine to create a style of musical art that cannot be explained, only experienced.
