"Addiction” hooking listeners

Los Angeles, CA - Christian rocker Anthony Tate’s new single
"Addiction” is sinking its hooks into listeners and pulling them into
the album from whence it springs, “Around the Throne.”
"Addiction" is a captivating song, making one’s attention its
prisoner. A unique whirl of influences and ideas carries the song to
new creative levels of texture and atmosphere. Retro-conscious indie
aesthetics drive the song as Tate, leaving nary a staple or stitch
mark in sight, hitches together both the sounds of modern rock and a
timeless sense of great classic rock. From the trendsetters of today,
the founders of tomorrow’s musical traditions, to old school sounds as
diverse as 80s new wave and 60s psychedelic art rock, Tate proves
himself a master of straddling styles and eras in his music. In the
process, he redefines his influences and shines them at the audience
through the prism of his unique perspective.
As such, "Addiction” is the door, unlocked and freely to be opened by
music fans everywhere. As with the whole album, Tate’s chosen single
is an ecumenical song, encompassing a vast set of inspirations and
issuing the siren’s song to fans of many genres. His pull is
irresistible; orbit close enough and the relativity of time will warp
in the gravity field of this talented songwriter’s songwriting.

Tate has been performing for much of his life, semi-professionally
for approaching two decades. Since 1990, he has often taken the stage,
either in the capacity of singer or guitarist or both. He first
toured with the band Daybreak and from there he sang with a number of
vocal groups, including Revival and Voice. He has shared the stage
with such vocally oriented groups as Acapella, AVB and GH. He has also
performed with Allison Krause.
"In 2000, Voice broke up and I set off on a solo adventure,” says
Tate. He recorded his first single, "One More Time” in 2002, which was
produced by Badger Records in Nashville. Now, he looks back and
reflects on a musical legacy that has found him rubbing shoulders in
marquee space with top Christian artists. His most remembered moment,
he says, was when the group Selah asked him to join them on the stage
for "Song of Salvation"
He has proven his public faith through powerful means in his private
life. At the age of 23, he was diagnosed with a kidney problem, which
at age 28 was recognized as end-stage renal failure. "I refused to
become its victim,” he says, despite how hard it was to get up and
face each day. "But, having strong faith and knowing that someone else
was ultimately in control, I drew the strength to be able to give hope
to others and to help them find the peace and love that I now try to
convey through my lyrics and the songs of my heart.” In October 2004,
his kidney transplant came through and confirmed his faith. He now
lives dialysis-free.
