Anything But Weasel

Anything But Weasel started as a studio project in 1997, when singer/songwriter Doug Rannells decided to doucment some of the many songs he had written of the years. This soon developed into Anything But Weasel when Doug asked two of his co-workers (Paul & Tom)..."do you guys wanna get together and play some of my tunes with me?" They said yes and the rest is history.

From 1998 to 2003, ABW had great success in Chicago playing many shows including shows at The Double Door, a live radio appearance on WNUR (Northwestern University radio) and a sopt on the Mindspring.com start-up disc. Chances are, if you got junk mail in the year 2000 and installed the mindspring disc to get a new internet provider...you were listening to Anything But Weasel while you downloaded.

Anything But Weasel took some time off in 2003, while all 3 members started familes. Six years later...the urge was too great to resist and the band got together once again; this time with a new, more mature outlook on their music and live shows. The revived sound has made for dynamic and exciting live performance for all three members and their audiences.

Since their return in 2009, ABW has played shows at Elbo Room The Rock Box, The Frequency (Madison, WI) and many others.

Anything But Weasel's sound has truly developed over the years and most importantly the band has found thier nitch and it shows; with a relaxed sense of rock-n-roll that doesn't hold back and melodies that stick with you for days; Anything But Weasel is a band not to be missed.
