Andrew O'Keeffe (A.O.)

As a 23 year old musician currently working solo, over the past few years I have been focusing on writing songs which are expressive and powerful without being overly complex. My belief is that songs which can be performed by a single musician with only an acoustic guitar and a microphone can be as captivating as watching a full band. Songs which are built on a solid foundation exemplify the kind of music which I strive to make. Being in and out of bands has taught me a lot about playing live, but there is something more personal in acoustic music that I find attractive. After spending 4 years at school in Montreal and performing as much as possible, I am now living in the Boston area and have taken the turn to become more serious about getting my music out to a wide audience. All of my songs are written, recorded and performed by me under a lifetime of influences that include Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Ray Lamontagne. As I continue to write, record and play live I am excited at the prospect of reaching new people, finding new fans and taking my music in a positive direction.
