Bio
Aphelion formed in 2010 in order to play live the songs written by Brian Gray earlier that year. We released our first album, "At Length", in July of 2011 and we are playing regional gigs in Florida, Georgia and Alabama.
The writing is influenced by familiar names like U2, The Pixies, Sonic Youth, R.E.M., and the Smashing Pumpkins. What sets the music apart from others is the quality of the writing and the willingness and ability to go outside of mainstream expectations without getting weird or unlistenable. The songs are emotionally and intellectually engaging, without being intimidating, tiresome or preachy.
Our new album, the writing of which is nearing completion, will explore a warmer, more intimate sound, focused on the same sonic dynamism of "At Length".
