Bio
Formed in 2000, Apollo 11 melds rock, funk, jazz, metal, and jam to create a canvas of original sound. Driven by rythm and a social philosophy of responsibilty, their live show includes antics of the mascot Mr. Apathy.
Influences vary widely from the Afghan whigs, Beastie Boys, Primus,Suicidal tendencies, the Police, U2, Ghandi's lunchbox to Herbie Hancock, Tool, Miles Davis, Chopin and everything in between.
What makes apollo 11 stand out amongst other bands is the use of multiple lead singers (ala the Beatles) and being able to boast that their the only band in the world with a singing drummer who scratches records.
Their live show is brought together by pairing driving, exciting music, with a theatrical influence (Not like styx, more like Neil Simon-not to be confused with Paul Simon)
