Apparatus members, Melanie Laquerre (vocals and acoustic guitar), Jason Poulin (lead guitar), Dan Lemieux (bass), and Sam King (drums) released Evolution, their new opus, and second studio album, on September 8, 2012.
While they can be compared to Evanescence with Tool influence, their style remains unique and their message is positive and honest. Apparatus is "one to watch for in the future. Can be "Disturbed" or even cooler." (Bruce A Miller, Mix Engineer on Apparatus' "Breathing and Choking").
