"Apple Shift Seven - Diseasy Living '5 Stars'"

Exploding out of Bletchley with the etiquette of a machine gun and the determination of a WWII code breaker, Apple Shift Seven are putting themselves firmly on the musical map with a near classic debut album. The combination of raw punk buzz saw riffs, yearning carefree vocals and exciting fill heavy drums are deliciously wrapped within the quirkiest of titles and subjects.

The kick ass album opener, Hello Everybody, is a ballsy introduction to thirteen short and perfectly formed tracks that collectively tip a nod of appreciation to The Clash, The Dickies, The Undertones and Sonic Youth. Debut single Robot Love is a stuttering art-punk assertion that toy robots have feelings too, while the surf guitar assault of Up a Gum Tree is a power drum masterclass.

Jam packed with rip-roarers like the Pistols inspired Attitude, the mesmeric Electric Coil Woman, and the rapid fire of Everything is Temporary, Diseasy Living has no room for fillers. It’s not hard to see why their high-energy brand of eccentro-punk earned them an invitation from Stiff Little Fingers to join them on their recent UK tour.

Not ones to rest on their laurels, the prolific punk heroes of Steven Flashpipe (vocals, guitars, keys), Grip JigBush (bass, vocals) and The Baron (drums, vocals, guitar, percussion) will shortly be releasing The Man with the Golden Gurn EP. But in the meantime, crank up the sound system and prepare to be infected by 30 minutes of marvellous mayhem.

5 STARS!

Bio

AS7 describe themselves as both Trashy and Tuneful hence the name of their self run label 'TrashTune'. Loveable, fun, chaotic and entertaining. the Bletchley based 3 piece could be described as belonging to the post-punk and new wave movements while drawing on the psych rock of the 60's, early 70's glam as well as best of punk rock of the late 70's. Their unique eccentric live shows and earsplitting sonic onslaughts have made them a firm favourite with venues and punters across the land.

2011 was an incredible year for AS7 regularly supporting the likes of Stiff Little Fingers, The Jam on their UK Tours not to mention opening for Blockheads and GBH. The chaps singed publishing and distribution deals with legendary punk label Cherry Red Records. The self released debut album and 'Diseasy Living' and 3 track concept EP ' The Man With The Golden Gurn' enjoyed radio play and glowing media coverage including 4 an 5 star reviews from Music-News.com and Mud-Kiss magazine as well as featuring in Mojo Magazines top 10 playlist.
