Bio

Todays R&B music is often watered down by a flood of singers who are drowning in a misogynistic ocean called hip-hop. Hip-hop and gangsta rap control the scene. It seems that the genre of rhythm and blues is about to sink to the bottom. No longer known for vocal range, stage presence, and baby making song lyrics, R&B singers are now known for how well their voices can be digitally enhanced in the studio, how fast they can take their shirts off, and how able they are to write songs that will imitate the lyrics of their hip-hop counterparts. With so much thuggish water flooding the airwaves, its safe to say that a lifeguard for R&B is needed.
Indeed, A. PRESENCE is a second-to-none vocalist who is definitely ready to revive and put back some needed soul-oxygen into the lifeless lungs of R&B. Toronto-based singer A. PRESENCE (A.P.) is a breath of fresh air; he is a powerful wind that blows with range and grace - the kind of wind that can push a roaring crowd into complete silence. A.P. is known to blow Hathaway’s spirit through the microphone. Griping the attention of fans is a reality not new to him. While shuffling his way through high school in Toronto, Canada, he managed to become a star basketball point guard. His muscular, 5'11" frame often left crowds dumbfounded, not able to understand how he could dunk on players who were twice his size. As if abusing players on the court wasn’t enough, A.P. would then take his basketball knowledge to the television screen: for two years as host of NBA Dunk Street, a weekly magazine show that had him going one-on-one in interviews with some of the NBA’s greatest. A.P.s television ties nearly landed him a record deal. However, his love for basketball persuaded the soul singer to put his vocals on pause and accept a scholarship in the US. After a couple of years of Division 1 basketball he decided to get back to doing what he does best and pursue his love of music. While exploring basketball and going to college A.P. never completely put his musical growth on pause, teaching himself how to play the piano and guitar. Being a musician helps his song writing and vocal versatility. Musically, he stayed in shape. And now as he prepares to releases his debut album, Game Theory, A. PRESENCE is going to show just how strong he is.
