April Cummings

BandCountryRock

My original material is a wonderful mix of rock and soul and just a little country thrown in there to make it interesting. It's just real music most inspired by my own personal experience. My live band shows include a lot of high energy rockin' tunes.

Biography

April Cummings is a singer/songwriter and native of Gainesville, GA. After studying music in college for two years, she began writing her own music. The next few years she would spend working in the studio finding her own sound. Just A Little Country is Aprils debut album of twelve original tunes. Proud of her Southern roots and adding her soulful voice and melodies, these songs have a lot of attitude and she definitely has a lot to say. You can hear songs from the album on Houndogradio.net and it was nominated for 'Best CD of the year' by atlantacountrymusic.com. April Cummings has also been featured in Gritz Magazine. Over the last year she has spent time traveling the east coast with two different corporate bands. April has performed on such stages as The Tabernacle. She also had the opportunity of doing a show in Bermuda with Rhythm Nation. In 2006, April began performing with her band, The Outlaw Revival doing a high energy mix of Southern & Classic Rock and Country in North GA and Atlanta. She has also been staying busy with solo performances and hosts an open mic in Buford at 37 Main every Thursday. Lyrics

One song at a time

Written By: April Cummings

Here's to the writers working hard behind the scenes
Feeding on the souls of those they've heard and seen
Here's to the voices of the present and the past
Giving words substance and making the music last

Chorus
We're changing the world one song at a time
Tellin the cold, hard truth about cheatin and livin and lies
Some may be rich others just gettin by
But we're changin the world one song at a time

Here's to the veterans of the music industry
Those who are living and those who have gone on to sleep
And here's to the future and new and fresh ideas
All those who've made the music just what it is

Just a little country

Written By: April Cummings

Well I went to church this morning right in my living room
Sang amazing grace a little Johnny Cash too
The angels gathered round me and the heaven's opened up
I heard a voice singing a message of love

Chorus
Just a little country, just a little country, just a little country with soul

I ain't gonna talk religion I ain't gonna give you a spill
Just listen to the music and let it make you feel
We're all of one blood, one creator, one creed
Let's love one another, let the music make us free

You might not think it's clear what is it that I hear
Is it blues or is it rock-n-roll?
It's country with a twang and you might not like the way I sing but I'm just a little country with soul

Mr. Blue

Written By: April Cummings

I can't eat I can't sleep
Thinkin' bout the day that you left me
Got an attitude I ain't in the mood
Feelin' 'bout as low as I can be

Chorus
Lonely, lonely Mr. Blue
Lonely, lonely, lonely missin' you

All along you did me wrong I don't know just what I'm gonna do
What a tease would you please
You're just like a pair of worn out shoes

Here I go puttin' on the show Never knowing what's real and pretend
Take the time I saw the signs
When is this gonna end?
