April Hendrix

Fired up with powerful lyrics, hot tracks, and earthy vocals, April Hendrix is ready to ignite the pop music world with her neo-soul/rock fusion. Rooted in blues with a rock edge, her signature sound is fueled by elements of hip hop, classic soul and funk.

Collaborating with her band, a team of producers, writers, musicians and visual artists, April has created this sampler of her vocal and lyrical talents. The daughter of a professional backup singer, April Hendrix comes from a long line of musical talent and grew up surrounded by music. Often traveling with her mother on the road, April's earliest memories of singing are in the backseat of the car, singing along with her mother's demo tapes.

Starting out as lead vocalist for her high school's rock-and-jazz band, April has continued to gig regularly, fronting an array of blues and soul bands, including "BabySister," "Burning Edamame," and "SoulStar Express." Along the way, she has also found the time to sing on albums by Bob Dylan, Craig Chaquico, the Mick Fleetwood Band, and Pigeon John.

Determined to make it on her own merits, she insisted on performing as just another member of the band. Now, April's time has come to perform her own songs with her own band.

April is backed by a powerful group of musicians featuring Sunny Erickson on guitar, David Gorospe on keys, Aron Van Alstine on bass, and Greg Weiser on drums--together they provide a dynamic and engaging performance.
