Bio

**Biography**
April Michelle was born in Memphis Tennessee on April 27, 1981, but later she was raised in Paris, Tennessee. She has a spitfire personality that suits her love to honky tonk! To know April, is to know that her home is on the stage and her happiest time is when she is performing. She thrives on her traditional country roots and love for western swing but it is apparent in her vocals that she has influences from jazz and motown. On the road with many dates per year she has been quite traveled, booking shows all over the U.S. from festivals to fairs, rodeos, casinos, etc.
April befriended Paris native Merle Kilgore as a young girl and he would be responsible for grooming her into the music industry, showing her the ropes, as well as mentoring her.
She was just twelve years old when she was invited to sing on the Grand Ole Opry and met producer Chuck Howard. Chuck was so impressed with her personality that he gave her an audition in the movie "Big Dreams & Broken Hearts: The Story Of Dottie West", where April was cast as Minnie Pearl. April Michelle was a child of the music industry and by fifteen she was playing regular nights at the Nashville Palace, morning shows at the Nashville Nightlife, and was still able to fit demo sessions into her busy schedule.
Merle introduced April to Jim Vest (steel guitar fame), and she soon became a featured vocalist with his band "The Nashville Cats". Jim also became her manager/producer and recorded her first single, "Little Bitty Tear" with co-producer/writer Hank Cochran. In 1998, the single was released and though it wasn't a big splash, it still gets radio airplay today!
April Michelle is an accomplished background vocalist who has had several years of road experience with some of country music's hottest acts, most of which she has opened for! As a writer, musician, and entertainer, she is what every record label wants, and that is a whole package!
April Michelle is working on a new project due out in late 2008 with producer Mark Beckett. You can watch April on "The Bill Jefferson Show" PAX TV every Sunday at 5pm in Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia.
The April Michelle stage show has tons of energy with a guaranteed professional performance!
