Arana

Music began playing his grandmothers piano as a toddler and learned to improvise from age 3. Toured a Bob Dylan tribute show several times, played quality restaurant/cafe repertoire including Jazz standards. Mad Pride repertoire is a psychiatric rock 'n roll concept of expressing recovery through difficult times using humour and story with great songs. Arana Plays Piano, vocals and harmonica. He has been playing piano since he was four years old. Arana worked professionally throughout the 90’s including a residency playing grand piano at the Grand Chateau Hotel on Mt Ruapehu during the ski season. He has twice toured a tribute show to the songs of Bob Dylan sponsored by the arts council of New Zealand. He has released a CD of piano music and recorded a topical song on mental health recovery titled “I’m just a little mad” which got some air play on commercial radio. Arana recently traveled to perform music at Yale University in America sponsored by the university.
