About Archer

On June 22, 1970, Timothy Christopher Wayne Archer was born to Gary and Faye Archer of Sarnia, Ontario. Tim's parents both worked hard to support their family of three children. In the early 1960's Gary and Faye owned and operated the Candystick lounge in downtown Sarnia. The lounge featured many top acts such as the Platters, Bobby Lewis and Sharon Loness. Both had a great love of music and dance. Gary performed in many area venues with his warm ' Jim Reeves' baritone style always with the loving support of his wife Faye.
Tim began to sing and perform at the age of three for family and friends at neighbourhood get together’s and family parties. Tim's parents would often tell the story of Tim singing 'last of the red hot lovers' to any or everyone who would listen. By the early age of sixteen, Tim had made a name for himself in the Sarnia area as a top singer and performer. Among his many early achievements, Tim performed to an outdoor concert for 40, 000 people for "Sarnia for downtown days". The music consisted of a wide variety featuring hits from the fifties up to the present. His unique ability of picking up tunes and lyrics after hearing a piece only a few times made him an instant success at a wide range of gospel, country and classic’s. Many people commented that day on Tim's stage presence as being one of the best and most energetic performances they've seen.

At the age of nineteen, Tim released a cassette of twelve songs of 50's and 60's music in the Sarnia area. The cassettes were featured in most of the music stores in Sarnia. Tim was on regular rotation on CHOK radio and FOX FM both of Sarnia. Fox Fm also featured a website titled ' The Lambton Leaders' which featured Tim among their top Canadian performers. The cassettes sold out to great review.

Other achievements in this time frame included Canada's ' London to Memphis' competition in which Tim placed second out of the top five finalist. This contest took place in many locations in Canada and over a period of weeks much in the style of today’s ' American Idol'. Tim also placed second in ' Budweiser’s Canada star search'.
With the support of his parents, Tim started a successful Sarnia car club "the nifty fifties and sixties" which featured a variety of classic cars. The club was a not-for-profit organization, which featured a number of yearly events designed for the betterment of the Sarnia area and local charities. Tim was able to create the car club and use his performing talents to bring recognition to it.
Tim and his parents traveled to the Nashville area twice in 1991 and 1992. Tim used these vacations to sing his way across the country music capital. On a visit to Loretta Lynn's ranch, Tim sang with Loretta Lynn's daughter Patsy Lynn. Tim and his family had a warm reception from the Lynn's. In fact, Loretta's family sponsored Tim to sing on stage at the Grand Ole Opry in their Friday and Saturday shows.
Much backstage encouragement was received for Tim by the legendary Skeeter Davis. Tim also performed at Bad Bob's Vapours Bar. This was a huge Nashville hot spot for many of the large country entertainers such as Jerry Lee Lewis, and Willie Nelson. Tim sang with both Phobe Lewis and the Kentucky Head Hunters. Several songs were performed. A woman in the audience made several request for Tim to sing Patsy Cline, Hank Locklin, and Ricky Nelson.
Tim sang all of the requests to great applause. Unknown to Tim, the woman in the audience was none other than Lorrie Morgan. Tim also performed at Mickey Gillies Bar in Nashville, another entertainment hot spot.
In 1992 Tim was offered an opportunity to sing for Capital Records. Unfortunately, Faye Archer, (Tim’s mother and number one) fan passed away at this time of breast cancer. For three years Tim organized and performed in the Sarnia area at large fundraiser events for the Breast Cancer Society in memory of Faye Archer.
Tim moved north of Sarnia to Owen Sound in 1994. Another trip to Nashville followed. Tim performs at many local venues and fundraisers. In 2000 Tim released locally his self titled CD ’ARCHER’ featuring some of his parents favourite songs of the 50's, 60's and country.
Tim is at a stage and vocal maturity ready to take his talent to the ' next level'. He is also looking at advancing his career in the stage and film industry. Years of performing, singing and life experience have enhanced his abilities dramatically allowing a greater range and depth of emotions to reveal themselves in his performances.
Since the live audition at the Owen Sound legion by a manager from RCA in New York we have released two new songs “blue of the sky’ and “Cheatin on me” both hitting #7 on the top country artist charts with 12 more to follow on the new CD release which is due to hit the stores in 2009. We are currently working on the details for a tour of Eastern and Western Canada as well as some performances in the USA.

Since mid 2008 Archer has been working h
