SHOWTIME, the home of the four-time 2012 EMMY Award-winning Homeland, premieres the brand new Season 7 of Dexter this Sunday, Sept 30th at 9PM EST. The newly created tracks from Sandblast Productions in EDM, Electronic and Dubstep mixes were released internationally on iTunes and Beatport in July 2012 by Milan Records.
The impetus for the remixes came from Showtime’s SVP Production & Technology, Paul Nicholson. Earlier this year Nicholson approached Sandblast Productions about a different creative approach to the Dexter theme that combined not only new musical elements but also audio clips from Dexter.
Says Nicholson, “I kept hearing in my head what this Dexter theme music remix could be, and I knew I could articulate that to the Sandblast guys.”
Ralph Kelsey, Loren Toolajian and Mike Ungar of Sandblast Productions then created a number of demos for Dexter with different musical idioms and a variety of soundbites, collaborating closely with Paul on concept and mixes. Sandblast then took the remixes to the next level by incorporating the dubstep of Gabe and Jake Spector’s Arclite, and the electronica groove of Miles Ungar, the Hair Kid.

The remixes have played online, on Showtime, and on the radio to great acclaim. With the recent addition of Kingsofspins.com distribution, both remixes will now have an even greater worldwide presence.

Brothers Jake and Gabe Spector have been producing music together since they were very young, and have written hundreds of tracks for television and internet media. Arclite music has been placed on dozens of shows including Shameless, Spike TV's MMA, and Inside the NFL, as well as commercials for T-Mobile, Dexter, NIssan and others. Their genre could generally be called House, but their actual musical influences come from hundreds of different artists, producers, DJ's and bands. The duo had spent many years developing specific tastes in various genres of dance music, specifically progressive and electro house. Arclite is an amalgamation of these styles and many more. Their catalogue of original music and remixes of various artists (Tiesto, Krewella, Daft Punk, Zedd, Steve Aoki, ATrak, Deadmau5, Amy Winehouse, Justin Timberlake, Luke Vibert...) is diverse and continually expanding.
Arclite's live sets can last 30 minutes or 5 hours, and they have been known to play three different shows in a night without repeating tracks. Worldwide touring DJ's regularly solicit tracks from Arclite for use in their own sets as well. The Arclite live experience is unique, explosive and unforgettable, and the duo only plays their own original tracks and their own remixes of other artists, bands, and producers.
