Bio

Arctic Jinn formed in 2009 and was brought together by Fiona Hebrard (their manager and a co-songwriter) who discovered most of them in 2009, whilst she was directing a musical. Three of the current band members were performing in it at the time. Tiego was a lead actor in the show and Jason-Paul and Jason ‘O’ were in the show band. Both Dale and Nick are students from COPA.

The style of the music combines the many influences of the various members as the song-writing process is always collaborative. Rock, blues, funk, R&B and jazz elements can all be heard in their music.

Their sound has been likened by many to the cool and funky vibe of Maroon 5 and Jimiroquai, yes, this young and talented group is a band to keep an eye on in the future.

The have been performing in and around Johannesburg at various live music venues e.g. Tanz Café, Cat’s Pyjamas, Musos Cool Runnings etc. and have started to develop a regular following.
They performed live on Mnet's KTV in August 2010 and have been interviewed twice on radio by Zane Derbyshire on the HOMEBREW.
They were semi-finalists in the 94.7’s 'Road to Joburg Day 2010' competition where they played live on air.
Their most recent achievement was beating 13 other bands to take the 1st place in the 14th annual RBF challenge in Dec 2010.

Arctic Jinn are in the process of recording their album which will hopefully be available early 2011.

For these talented young musos it’s all about the music. Four of them are already pursuing full-time music careers. Their passion is clearly evident in their commitment to, not only the band, but their own personal development as musicians too.
