Bio

Arctic Jinn formed in July of 2009. After spending several months in the rehearsal room writing songs and honing their skills, they organized, in March of 2010, to record a live demo at the SABC studios under the skilled engineering hand of Peter Pearlson. From there they began performing at various live music venues around Johannesburg, their first major gig being at Tanz Café (in Bryanston) in May of 2010.
They have played in a few competitions, Highveld Stereo’s ‘Road To Jo’burg Day’ (August 2010) where they made it to the semi-finals and the Thornrose Battle of The Bands also making it through to the semi-finals (October 2010). Finally, after a lot of hard work and persistence, Arctic Jinn experienced their first real triumph, when, in December of 2010 they won the 14th annual RBF Challenge, beating fourteen other bands to the winning position.
Currently Arctic Jinn are continuing to perform as much as possible as well as preparing themselves to go into studio for 10 days, one of their prizes from the RBF challenge. Much time is being spent writing material and focusing on pre-production for studio.
Arctic Jinn are billed to perform at the extremely popular and successful music festival, Season’s Wither & Jo’burg Burning and have secured a slot on the ‘Contemporary Music Festival’ at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in July. From there they are booked to do a five day tour of Durban before heading back to Johannesburg.

This talented group of musicians has begun to leave their vibrant flavour of funk and pop in the hearts and minds of fans everywhere and is set to shake up the SA music scene with their unique and tasty sounds.
