Feeling a bit camera shy

Argyle is a Power Rock Trio hailing from Peterborough, Ontario, where they have a very dedicated and colourful fan base. After spreading out and playing gigs in major cities in Southern Ontario and Quebec, word is beginning to spread about their intense and exciting live shows, as well as their dedication to fans and friends.

Frontman Jordan Mack contributes very strong songwriting abilities, as well as powerful guitar and vocal work. At 23 years old, he is already an accomplished guitarist, with a unique style all of his own. With Cream, Black Sabbath, and Pearl Jam as his main rock influences, it becomes apparent that his appetite for the epic is what drives his compositional style. Although he writes lots of high energy tunes, they sometimes evolve into more moody, melodic explorations, often weaving an intricate range of emotions. He acknowledges that most of the issues he writes about can be deeply complex, and so his dedication and honesty to their exploration are shown in the lengthier, epic songs. With the help of fellow band mates, he successfully stamps the thematic impressions that surround the issues within the specific tune, no matter how simple or complex.

Jordan’s musicianship is complimented by bassist Joey Theobald, whose playing often ranges from low rumbling rock avalanches to melodic counterpoint to heavy distortion and beyond. Joey is a big fan of Led Zeppelin, Ween, Primus, and Queens of the Stone Age. Although he is an incredibly solid bass player, he is willing to take chances for the sake of keeping things interesting. Always an abstract thinker, he brings an energy to the group that helps them push boundaries and explore musical areas they may not be used to.

The group is kept in check rhythmically by drummer Jp Contois, who contributes bombastic hard hitting rock rhythms that are both sharply intense and intricate. Jp cites Dave Grohl, John Bonham and Danny Carey as his top rock drummers of all time, and their influence on him becomes quite apparent when he unleashes his sonic bombardment at live shows.
