ARIA LEE

Born June 29th 1988, as the love child of a Colombian born immigrant beauty Elvia Perez merengue musical legend Rubby Perez, controversy has been present early on in the life of Casiey Perez (Aria Lee). Growing up in Queens, NY with a single, bilingual mother forced this young star to take in a dose of hard life far earlier than anticipated, but just in time for the nurturing of an emotional, realist, and passionate young lady.

The influential and revolutionary music of the 90s dance pop era infused with Casiey’s Afro-Colombian roots to create the makings of musical uniqueness untouched by the clutches of mainstream media. The salsa/cumbia origins in which her mother introduced her to had married the pop music that dominated her surroundings at the time. Her hips moved to the music, and her heart was moved by the words. Her voice rested in between the two. Aria was born.

Aria was rebellious. A young girl growing into her womanhood at a time of feeling isolated, rejected and restricted peeked a keen interest in hip-hop and rock and roll music. The energy and passion in the music spoke directly to the renegade spirit in this young lady. Fate would have it that Aria would move to Florida with her mother. The gold teeth, spinning rims and heavy-bass music of the urban inner city welcomed Aria just the same. The same diverse, aware artist absorbed all the special energetic vibes being omitted from Miami, Fl. When you combine the unique, humble beginnings of her life, the soundtrack would fall under the rock/pop category. Once you’ve considered her diverse and sensual nature, the category will change in itself completely. Aria Lee is in a category of her own.
