World Folk music without borders, from a unique, beautiful, powerful voice.

Biography

Through his work on the classic ONCE UPON A POTTY (Parent's Choice Gold Medal), the MTV/Nickelodeon EUREEKA'S CASTLE (A.C.E. award and International Film & TV Festival of New York medal), R.L. Stine's GHOSTS OF FEAR STREET audiobook series, and numerous other family projects, ARI FRANKEL seems to have found the perfect balance between catchy melodies, memorable lyrics and top-notch musical production; originals such as the HUG YOU samba and THE SNOW SONG ballad come through as adult songs with kid-related lyrics: a triumph for all ages! The son of renowned children book author and illustrator Alona Frankel (Joshua & Prudence), ARI is an eclectic, cross-genre artist: while classically training in the '80's at an academy of music, he played synthesizers in a New Wave band; while scoring commercials and documentary films at New Yorkテ不 renowned Ciani/Music in the '90's he composed for The Actors Studio, The Atlantic Theatre and downtown dance troupes; recent years have found him creating modern tonal operas, acoustic song cycles, and up next -- an all-original jazz lullaby project!

When the eclectic THE OCEAN OF LOVE was originally released, it quickly won a PARENT COUNCIL award as "outstanding from a learning perspective" and a prestigious PARENT'S CHOICE Silver Honor "for amazing audio accomplishment", but was a private printing distributed among friends and growing fans. It is only now that Ari has remastered the complete album, designed a new, attractive digipak-style package, and has secured widespread store and online distribution; finally, THE OCEAN OF LOVE is truly flowing again, and will be available anywhere and everywhere good music is offered. A NEVERLAND new-age Grammy award nominee, AUDIO FOR NEW MEDIA Emerson College teacher and multimedia developer, Ari continues to work in the studio -- alone and with talented friends such as actress Fiona Shaw and musicologist/pianist Joshua Rifkin -- to bring empowering and inspiring cuts for the whole family.

Lyrics

the ocean of love

Written By: Ari Frankel

When it is hot in the Jungle of Peace
I go swimming in The Ocean of Love
All my friends will soon come in
To swim in the ocean, in the ocean with me
GROWL GROWL the Golden lion roars (x3)
And jumps in the, in the ocean with me
Swimming in The Ocean of Love, (x3)
Just the lion & me.

MOO MOO the White cow says (x3)
As she steps in the ocean, in the ocean with us
Swimming in The Ocean of Love...
Just the cow, the lion & me.

(whistle)the Red bird sings (x3)
As she lands on the ocean, on the back of the pig
Swimming in The Ocean of Love...
Just the bird, the pig, the cow, the lion & me.

HOW HOW HOW the Gray dog barks (x3)
As he joins us in the ocean, with his friend the cat
Swimming in The Ocean of Love...
Just the dog, the cat, the bird, the pig, the cow, the lion & me.

U U A A A the monkey screams (x3)
As he splashes in the ocean, with the gorilla and chimps
Swimming in The Ocean of Love...
Just the monkey, the gorilla, the chimps, the dog,
the cat, the bird, the pig, the cow, the lion & me.

Next came the elephant with his wife
Out from the Jungle of Peace
They want to swim in the ocean with us
But have to wait... until someone gets out!
Swimming in The Ocean of Love...
Just meÉ and some of my friends.

change me!

Written By: Ari Frankel

Change me, change me, change me
CanÕt you see that I am wet?
DonÕt go saying that itÕs bad
Just change my diaper

Oh, shake me, wake me, turn me,
Change me before I get mad.
Want to be so dry and glad
In a clean diaper.

Every way I turn my nose
I still smell from head to toe...

So come to me and do those things
You do so well
I promise not to ever yell
When you change my diaper.

IÕm so wet now.
So wet. Wow!

(Repeat all) Change me, change me, change me...

... So come to me and do those things
You do so well
I promise not to ever yell
When you change my diaper.

Uh-oh, Uh-oh, Uh-oh,
Change my diaper right now!

I love to drive with mommy. I really love to drive.
I get to roll down windows. We sometimes even park.
Press the gas or pull the brake,
Make a right or take a left...
WeÕre really goinÕ places, DrivinÕ USA.

drive, drivinÕ - drive, drive, drivinÕ...

WeÕre driving fast, mommy! Mommy drives so fast.
WeÕre out of gas, mother. I think weÕre out of gas.
ThereÕs a station. We should stop.
LetÕs pull over, fill her up.
WeÕre really goinÕ places, DrivinÕ USA.

drive, drivinÕ - drive, drive, drivinÕ

The long and winding road just never seems to end
YouÕre never there but you are always on your way.

[take it away, Peter!]

solo

drive, drivinÕ - drive, drive, drivinÕ...

I need to go, mommy, I really need to go.
Well, are we there yet, mommy? Why donÕt we go back home?
Press the gas or pull the brake.

WeÕre really goinÕ places, DrivinÕ USA.

hug you

Written By: Ari Frankel

Early morning on a weekend day,
Woke up, crawled out of bed.
Hello Mommy, good morning Dad,
What are we doing?

I donÕt want to watch TV
I donÕt want to read a book
I donÕt want to play outside
I wanna hug you

Pa la pa pa pa pa, la pa, hug you all day long
Pa la pa pa pa pa, la pa, hug you, love you, not let go

Hug you (all I wanna do is)
Hug you (all I wanna do is)
Hug you, all day long

Woke up early, feel quite bored.
Why are both your eyes still closed?
DonÕt you think youÕve slept enough?
What are we doing?

I do not want to watch TV
I do not want to read a book
I do not want to play, or sing
I wanna hug you

Pa la pa pa pa pa, la pa, hug you all day long
Pa la pa pa pa pa, la pa, hug you, Love you, never let go

Hug you (all I wanna do is)
Hug you (all I wanna do is)
Hug you, all day long

sandbox sunday

Written By: Ari Frankel

The sun is shining, Sunday morning
DaddyÕs up, just me and him
A perfect day for my big sandbox
With my neighbor, his name is Tim.

Oh, there he is, I see him coming
I grab my bucket, the shovel too
And here we are, just minutes later,
HeÕs got a hat, and I do too

Building castles in my sandbox
ThereÕs nothing we would rather do
(Then) building castles in my sandbox
With my friend, his name is Tim, do you know Tim? I hope you do...

The sun is high and we are sweating
Mother brings some lemonade
With lemons floating near the ice cubes
We drink it down, and turn to play

ThereÕs so much sand where we are sitting
And Tim is turning really red
Just when he thinks of going bye-bye
The sun decides to go to bed..

Building castles in our sandbox
ThereÕs nothing we would rather do
(Then) building castles in my sandbox
With my friend, his name is Tim, do you know Tim?
Have you met Tim? Hi, this is Tim... How do you do?

what do you think, that it's easy to be a kid?

Written By: Ari Frankel

What do you think, that itÕs easy to be a kid like me? like me.

Mommy works all day.
Daddy works all day
Grandma stays in bed with her TV on!

What do you think, that itÕs easy to be a kid like me? like me.

The cat ate all my food.
The goldfish tried to fly.
The dog played with my shoes and now theyÕre gone.

What do you think, that itÕs easy to be a kid like me? like me.

My puzzle is too hard.
My drawings are too dark.
My tape is stuck and wonÕt play my favorite song!

What do you think, that itÕs easy to be a kid like me? like me.

the snow song

Written By: Ari Frankel

I remember the first time I saw the snow
It was white as a cloud, as a flower
Falling to the ground all around us.

Waiting for Daddy in the snow
Waiting for Daddy to take me home

I remember the first time I saw the snow
I was lost in the middle of nowhere
With no lights around, I was waiting

Waiting for Daddy in the snow
Waiting for Daddy to take me home

I remember the first time I saw the snow
I was lost in the middle of nowhere
I was far away, then I saw himÉ

Walking with Daddy in the snow
Walking with Daddy, going home
Walking with my Daddy through the snow
My Daddy takes home
