September 2009 - Thank you so very much for working with us in bringing Arj Barker and Mike Winfield to Sacramento State. Everything went fantastic! Arj arrived early, and he spent that extra time hanging out with my student volunteers- who loved him- both personally and on stage. We had a huge crowd! We basically filled up our lawn area, so I estimate around 1500+ were in attendance. Show went off without a hitch- both comedians were super easy going and very easy to work with. Arj stayed for a bit after his performance to sign autographs and meet fans. It was very, very nice of him- especially knowing that he still had a 2 hour drive back home and an early flight the next morning. Great show! – Zenia Diokno, Programs Advisor,. Bio
Although Arj Barker is most recognizable from his role as Dave on HBOs Flight of the Conchords, he is also a veteran stand-up comic and has been seen regularly on such shows as, Late Night with Conan OBrien, the Late Show with David Letterman, and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. As well, Barker co-wrote and starred in the The Marijuana Logues" with Doug Benson and Tony Camin. He is a regular guest and performer at comedy festivals around the world, including Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, The Melbourne Comedy festival, The Chicago Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot in Seattle, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (where he won the coveted Perrier award for Best Newcomer). He also has two half specials and a brand new one hour special on Comedy Central which airs in January, 2010.
