Armadillo is a seven-piece eclectic-rock band which first came together in February 2010. After first experimenting with covers of soul and funk classics such as Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock; the band widened its gaze and sought to cover more contemporary, rock-based tracks. However they adapted these songs to fit with the continuing role of the brass section which had developed in the early days of the band. Integrating a brass-section with a standard four-piece gave Armadillo a unique flexibility of sound which is reflected in their composition. After a year as a cover band, they put significant effort into writing their own material and now have a diverse range of their own music.
The short space of time from when the band got together, till the point at which they played their first big gig in Edinburgh gives them the feeling of a completely new fresh sound, bursting with potential to go on to do great things.
