Since playing their first show together in February 2011 at Sydney’s iconic Annandale Hotel, Arms Attraction with Kenta Mitsuhashi on vocals and guitar, Jamie Georgiou on bass, and brothers Stephen Kalithrakas on lead guitar and Arky Kalithrakas on drums, have proven they are the next big thing on Sydney’s alternative rock and pop punk scene.
Sharing a passion for music growing up, Stephen, Jamie and Arky played alongside one another in a number of different bands however they were missing one vital piece – a singer who they believed in. In 2011 Kenta came to Australia to study from Hong Kong and met with the boys by chance. Since then the band have not looked back and have become their own tight knit family who are all driven by their shared passion in music.
Having written over 25 songs for the EP due for release in March 2013, the band have been working with Electric Sun Studios’ Dave Patrovic and Shane Edwards drawing on their musical influences Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, Boys Like Girls, Paramore and Mayday Parade to solidify a sound that they can call their own.
On September 7th 2012 the band released their debut single “Fall In Love Again” at The Wall in Sydney while playing alongside the American pop punk band Cartel. The single release also features the two bonus tracks “New World” and “Olivia” and gives audiences a taste of things to come from the dynamic quartet.
“We've been through a lot as a band, and we spent most of this year developing our sound, and most importantly, build our sense of camaraderie. Our first three tracks represent the beginning of our sound, and since then our sound has really matured and that is what this coming EP represents; we have found our sound, and we have solidified our bond as a band. 2013 is going to be a huge year for us, as we take ourselves to the next level."
