"Congrats on landing #1 on the Techno/Club/Dance channel on OurStage for May 2008"

June 2nd, 2008

Hey Arnold!

Congrats on landing #1 on the Techno/Club/Dance channel on OurStage for May. You'll be hearing from our Community Dept. about prizes and cash. Make sure to get back to them as soon as possible to ensure quick delivery of the prizes.

But I'm writing for a different reason. The other EJs and I are putting together a video featuring all of our number one artists. Think of it as an acceptance speech video, where the winning artists thank the fans and anyone else they want. If you have a video camera or webcam, we'd love for you to put together a short acceptance speech video and send it to us by 9:00am EST, this coming Thursday, June 5th.

Here are the requirements:

-a 10-20 second acceptance speech
-can be fun, serious, creative, etc...
-DO NOT put any titles or words on the screen, we'll take care of it
-DO NOT add background music. If you want us to include a background song, send us the mp3
-send us the highest res version you can fit into an email (you can also use yousendit.com for bigger files).
-send video files to our head videographer, Andy: andrew@ourstage.com
-send it to Andy by 9am EST this coming Thursday morning (June 5th)

Thanks so much, and again congratulations! Look forward to hearing from you. Drop me an email if you have any questions.

"Blogcritics Goodie Bag: Indiestore picks, Arnold G"

14th Nov 2006, 01:49 GMT
This week's Indiestore picks selected by former NME and Rolling Stone journalist Neil Mason:
Glasvegas "Go Square Go!" - Their debut 7", released last week, sold out in the blink of an eye. The
only way you're going to get it now is digitally. Handy eh? If you've not heard 50s rock and roll with a
Glaswegian accent, boy are you missing out. It certainly puts The Proclaimers into perspective.
Brilliant stuff. Action Plan "Stendhal" - With support slots for Razorlight and Jet under their belt,
Colchester's brilliantly feisty Action Plan released their debut single last year on Young And Lost, the
label that gave us Larakin Love. Better late than never, you can get it here now. Sadly there's no sign
of the new single yet. Boys? Loungeclash! "Bug Day (demo)" - From the prolific Elsewhen stable
(home of Slipper and Loop Guru) comes the swirling dub of Loungclash! Exotic, rich and rumbling, but
probably not in that order, it is, in their own words, a mighty brew. Plum "Well Thats It" - Riotous
blues that sounds like it's been kicked out of a Hercules. This is music racing to get done before it hits
the ground. A real rush of pounding drums, wobbly harmonica and chugging gee-tar. And it's got a
spectacular two-minute intro. Life-affirming stuff. Emeson "No Reason" - Describing your music as
"swerving from the well-trodden path of the norm" is just asking for rolling eyes and tutting. It's nice
to discover that Emeson isn't wrong. This is classy off-kilter soul music that stands out thanks to its
most subtle of dub touches. Rob Sedgwick - Manchester has been churning out the singer/songwriter
types of late. "Burn" is by far the strongest of a gentle trio of tracks here. It's singing from a hymn
sheet not unlike David Gray meets Elbow. Interesting certainly, and bodes well for the full album early
next year. December 1st, 2006 is World Aids Day, while this month marks the 15-year
anniversary of when two legends in the world of music and sports announced to the world
their HIV-positive diagnosis, forever changing the face of the disease. Socially aware indie
artist Arnold G plans to do his part via music in creating more of an awareness for those
affected by HIV/AIDS. The pop-flavored "Carry On" focuses on AIDS awareness and is from
his album DRIVEN: Straight to the Dance Floor. Written and composed by Arnold G, the
song has an accompanying video montage with riveting images of lives around the world
affected by HIV: The music of NYC rock trio Vaeda may lead the listeners astray, but they invariably
find their way back to the band, who were the No. 1 unsigned band on MySpace in Sep/Oct 2005
based on song plays on the band's homepage (and who currently have over 105,000 MySpace
friends). Their debut album State of Nature was released on Playtyme Records in August this year.

"SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA-BASED INDIE ARTIST ARNOLD G"

Hollywood, CA, September 15, 2006 -- Southern California-based singer/dancer/performer
Arnold G is set to release his debut CD DRIVEN: Straight to the Dance Floor, this week on A &
G Records. The album covers a number of dance genres and also touches on social issues such
as AIDS awareness, hate crimes and crystal meth.
Arnold G has traveled much of the world, performing in Eastern Europe, the UK and Canada
along with America. He started his career as a dancer and choreographer for various recording
artists in Hollywood. After a decade as a dancer, he became a print-model but his love of music
brought him to singing locally in nightclubs. There he found himself winning singing contests
throughout California. As a performer he has been a part of shows at The White Party in Palm
Springs, Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park, California and The MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
A special marketing campaign includes extensive promotion on MySpace, Internet distribution
outlets and traditional one-stops. A distribution agreement was signed with Super-D for the latter
(www.sdcd.com), while digital distribution outlets all over the world are additionally on board to
carry DRIVEN: Straight to the Dance Floor. There will also be an awareness campaign at the
upcoming Billboard Dance Music Summit to be held in Las Vegas next week.
Two of the songs from DRIVEN are currently charting on Soundclick (www.soundclick.com), an
artist-driven website by and for artists. "Give It To Me Baby" went to #7 on the Electronica chart
(out of 168,587 ssongs) and #3 on the Electronica -- Subgenre Dance charts. (out of 11,268
songs). "Carry On" went to #162 on Alternative (out of 91,920 songs) and #13 on Alt Power Pop
(out of 4,129 songs). Another song on the record, "Ocean Dreams," went to #1 on the Electronica
chart for two weeks and also topped the overall genre chart.
SoundClick is a music website that features both signed and unsigned bands,
according to their website. It has been around since 1997. Well-known artists such
as Janet Jackson, Sarah McLachlan, Moby, Gravediggaz, PM Dawn, Phil Collins, Peter
Gabriel, Kate Bush and Letters To Cleo are also on the site. The driving force are
hundreds of thousands of great unsigned bands looking for their big break. There are
50,000 new songs and more than 6000 new bands approved each month.
There are a few socially-aware songs on DRIVEN, including the pop-flavored "Carry
On," which talks about the importance of AIDS awareness. A special DVD will
accompany the track and is a video montage of lives lost over the years. A portion of the
upcoming single's proceeds will go to AIDS awareness. Meantime, other strong messages are
sent through "Our Rainbow" (hate crimes) and "Angel Eyes" (crystal meth).
A promotional club tour in select markets is planned for later this year. Single releases (TBD) will
be promoted to Billboard reporters and mixshow DJ's.
Please go to www.myspace.com/arnoldg for additional information about both DRIVEN:
Straight to the Dance Floor and Arnold G.

"GBRP TOP 50 DANCE CHART"

#3 "You Got Me Hot", Pop/Dance, Arnold G featuring Jezda
#38 "You Got Me Hot", House Mix, DC/DJ Grow

"ARNOLD G's REVIEW and CHARTS"

Dance music has, really, one goal. The essential need is to uncontrollably drive human beings to the
dance floor where they can grind, sweat, and groove the pleasure of the bar owners' refreshment count. If
an artist has the talent to write and program those kinds of beats - it's money in the bank. Arnold G's
ability to compose pulsating and kinetic dance beats is money in the bank. His 12-track CD, "Driven
(straight to the dance floor)", is a mix of house/trance cuts that are written for DJ's use - except for the
one pop tune (bonus track at the end, "Carry On"). Track 2, "Give it to Me Baby", sets itself up in
traditional dance fashion - key stab delays build up the anticipation for the beat and move. Cymbals pan
and shuffle and a hollow key envelope wraps the listener. In track 4, "Ocean Dreams", vocalist, Jennifer
Lispius, lends her incredible soprano vibrato to the mix in a track that intends to lose the dance floor to
insanity. The ominous kick opening that pushed a heartbeat into the mix is heard in track 5's, "I'm Not in
Love", the 10CC classic redone in trance with washed reverbed background vocals. Arnold G finishes off
the record with a bonus track and pop effort, "Carry On". The ample effort showcases his vocal abilities
and the result is solid. The clear verdict here, though, is all about the groove and the beats. Arnold G has
that keen sense of beat that should make him extremely welcomed in clubs. Well done. --- earbuzz, Don,
