ARSAN

 Sacramento, California, USA
BandR&BPop

My music is based around hip hop. However due to my classical orchestra training in a few instruments, the sound of my music varies.

Biography

Born in Queens, New York, Arsan showed early signs of musical interest. She was influenced early on by her grandparent's love of jazz music. She hoped to join the school band and perform as a trumpet player, while her mother was convinced that the she was going to be a floutist. Arsan played the flute for a year and was able to coerce her mother into allowing her to move on to the brass section of the school orchestra. After spending another two years bouncing around instruments in the section, she decided that woodwinds might be more of a challenge. After spending a few weeks on the clarinet, it became clear that being a percussionist was what she ultimately was after. Staying within the section for the next 8 years consistently, the making of a balanced classical musician were founded.

As a kid, Arsan displayed introverted characteristics. She spent most of her out of school time preoccupied with video games and Disney movies. No doubt that her early enrollment in Montessori school, before entering the first grade, was the key to her creative development and progression. It would later prove to be crucial in the minimal amount of time that was needed to properly absorb and regurgitate certain musical material.

As she grew up, hip-hop greatly affected Arsan's life, as her former classical training would no longer satisfy her needs to discover vaious "new" sounds and techniques used in modern music. It was this new found love of modern harmonies, melodies, and word play that would lead her to begin writing and creating her own music at the age of 12 years old. She then became a fan of alternative, nu-wave, electronic, rock, and world music. She also became an avid reader of poetry.

Arsan hopes to define her music one day in its own category... "The category "other" just doesn't sound justified. You could say its alternative, you could say it's a bunch of things, and yet at the same time, it would be none of those things."

Starting out an aspiring trumpet player, Arsan never saw herself making hwe own recordings from scratch. Let alone, defining music in general. She plans to take her creative ideas and visions and "giving the best pieces of art possible. That's all I'm here to do."

Give Me Mine

"GIVE ME MINE"
Produced/Written/Performed by: Arsan

[1st Verse]

Fresh on the scene little me.
No baggy sweatpants cut offs or white tees.
Just gloss air ones and some crisp khakis.
Bet ya never seen it done, this at ease.
Mamma always knew I was a mind, born free.
The only one it makes sense they check my I.D.
Try me.
Like please.
The one with the nitty gritty beats for 50.
Flow is sickly if ya get me.
Hard to hate me so they wit me.
Now I'm up here.
Where the air's so thin.
They can't tell me sh*t.
Cuz they don't know where to begin.
Wouldn't play me at first.
Like I'm in last position.
Gave me the boot as if I didn't fit in.
Somebody should've told em.
Sore loser since ten.
Incompetence is common so you're forgiven.
Just make sure you learn this lesson.
Cuz I'm older.
All I know how to do is win.

[Hook]

Give me mine.
I'm a take that.
Take that.
Break that.
Break that.
And shake that cake back.
Give me mine.
I'm a freak that dollar.
Scream out f*ck the world.
And pop my collar.

[Repeat 1x]

[2nd Verse]

Arsan in the buildin.
I'm on that ish.
Heard me for the first time.
I'm ya favorite dish.
Haters want me gone.
Like it's their favorite wish.
But if i wasn't here.
Would it sound like this?
Make ya heads bump?
Make ya trunk slap?
Make ya go dumb?
No matter where ya at.
Well who's that?
The one with the nitty gritty beats for 50.
Flow is sickly if ya get me.
Hard to hate me so they wit me.
Now I'm so high on my damn sh*t.
Call it confidence.
But it's heaven sent.
And it must be meant.
Who but I?
Forget a little piece.
I'll have my own whole pie.
F*ck a job.
F*ck a boss.
Wait for corporate demise.
Hating on me cuz of shades over my eyes.
Always seen myself here.
Lips touching the sky.
Arsan spit it like heat.
And set the whole world on fire.

[Hook]

Give me mine.
I'm a take that.
Take that.
Break that.
Break that.
And shake that cake back.
Give me mine.
I'm a freak that dollar.
Scream out f*ck the world.
And pop my collar.

[Repeat 1x]

[3rd Verse]

I'm my own team.
And they solo.
Thought I needed help?
Recognize I'm all pro.
(Get the dough Arsan)
And now it's time for the show.
I'm about to do it like ya never seen before.
My mind on bend.
The style just for trends.
Been hot since then.
86 back again.
They wouldn't give it to me.
So I had to take it.
Long as I'm here homie I'm gon' take it.
The money ain't right?
Arsan ain't gon' say sh*t.
She gon' turn around.
And gi-give you a face lift.
Tired of being treated unfair and faceless.
Cuz I'm better than them.
That's the reason they hate kid.
Keep their grill's sour.
Like my sweat they could taste it.
Educated.
Empowered.
They're the one's that's tasteless.
So take this.
And get way over there.
Apologize then peace.
Cuz there's no hating here.

[Hook]

Give me mine.
I'm a take that.
Take that.
Break that.
Break that.
And shake that cake back.
Give me mine.
I'm a freak that dollar.
Scream out f*ck the world.
And pop my collar.

[1st Verse]

Now just off the top of my dome.
I'm queen of the throne.
(Arsan)
Ain't no name for the sh*t I be on.
They all wanna juice it out.
Put it in a bottle.
The new kid on the block.
And I'm goin full throttle.
You all wanna talk about how your dating models.
Well everywhere I go.
Everybody wants to follow.
The n*ggas wanna wild out.
The chicks they wanna jig.
They be like Arsan you small.
But damn you so big.

[Hook]

So then we rock
Cuz you know the beat knocks.
Arsan got tracks.
Y.E.A. got the block.
So then we rock.
Cuz you know the beat knocks.
Arsan got tracks.
And you know I got the block.

[Repeat 1x]

[Break/2nd verse]

Go side to side.
I can't forget about it.
Go side to side.
Now the way I spit it is vicious.
N*ggas be bangin it forever.
Hugs and the kisses.
We keep it goin like forever.
Hate and bad wishes.
Just keep it comin like forever.
I'm knowin I sizzle.
I'll keep it comin like forever.
Y.E.A.
You know I'm down for whatever.
Been around the block.
I'm just a little more clever.
Played around with stock.
I'll admit it.
I gained never.
But it's ok.
My bank account it way better.

[Hook]

So then we rock
Cuz you know the beat knocks.
Arsan got tracks.
Y.E.A. got the block.
So then we rock.
Cuz you know the beat knocks.
Arsan got tracks.
And you know I got the block.

[Repeat 1x]

[3rd Verse]

Now what the hell did you think you saw?
Wouldn't let me in the front.
So I pushed through the back door.
Heard it all again.
But ain't seen me before.
Arsan's kinda bossy.
Arsan's kind raw.
Arsan's just a little bit grown up.
A little mature.
Arsan's bout to shut it down.
Sweat on the floor.
And yeah I'm about to rock it out.
The showmanship tour.
You know I'll blow it out.
Don't get your hair permed before.

[Hook]

Cuz I'm a rock.
You know the beat knocks.
Arsan got tracks.
Y.E.A. got the block.
So then we rock.
Cuz you know the beats knock.
Arsan got tracks.
And you know I got the block.

[Hook]

Get ya grizzy on

[Repeat 7x]

A na na na na na.
Na na na na na.

[Repeat 3x]

[1st Verse]

She works 9 to five.
Never mind the normal shuck and jive.
Down for alcohol.
But first she gotta cruise the mall.
Gotta shop.
Gotta get in the stall.
Cuz you know she can't afford it all.
Got her head straight.
She's on the ball.
But don't think that you know it all.
Dude she met a while ago.
Mr. Flashy.
With all the dough.
About ass cheeks.
And all of those.
Asked if she was one of those.
She nodded and a job arose.
Secrecy.
Lies.
And extra clothes.
And plus the plan is extra closed.
And now she's JCPennying O's.

[Hook]

Get ya grizzy on

[Repeat 7x]

A na na na na na.
Na na na na na.

[Repeat 3x]

[2nd Verse]

He gets paid the minimum wage.
So he dreams about hitting the stage.
Sporting hot clothes, shoes, and waves.
But he don't know how to act his age.
Daddy left cause he caught a case.
Something about a warrant.
But really his race.
Sonny's on that paper chase.
On track but he's losing the race.
Fast cash leads to limited space.
What you put out is what you create.
Jealousy.
Lies.
Envy.
Hate.
Wasn't focused.
So the music's on wait.
Now he's in the yard pushing up weights.
He used to be a writer.
He used to skate.
He used to love going up on stage.
But now he's stuck doing 25 in a cage.

[Hook]

Get ya grizzy on

[Repeat 7x]

A na na na na na.
Na na na na na.
