Diamonds in the Rough: Belo Zero Muzik Group Presents: Arson Squad

In today's hip-hop, there are too many stories about the pitfalls and tragedies of rap artists. There are the Tupac Shakurs, the Soulja Slims, the Biggie Smalls and the recently departed, Goldie the Murderist.

However, three men from the Midwest are taking their plunge and making their marks in rap music's changing landscape. Marty Hart (Code Bluu), Isaiah Collier (Zay Gutta) and Desmond Ricks (D-Ricks) comprise Arson Squad, a hip-hop group formed in Des Moines. All of the members are in their early twenties. Bluu is 20 years old. Gutta is 20 years old. Ricks is 22. Their lives are diverse as is hip-hop. Bluu was born on an army base in Germany before his parents relocated to Waterloo, Iowa. Gutta's parents provided a strong, two-parent, family base. However, his Chicago neighborhood influenced him to do things as a youth that could have got him killed or put in prison. D-Ricks graduated from high school and really worked on his craft before joining Arson Squad.

All three paid their respective dues to hip-hop. They each had a dream they created in their basements. They honed their skills by battle rhyming on the street and in their respective junior high and high schools. They developed a fondness for hip-hop during long sessions of rapping over instrumentals and writing lyrics. D-Ricks used his time after high school to become a better performer. After graduation from high school, Zay Gutta travelled the extra mile by graduating from another four-year institution. During the academic period, he rapped and promoted Belo Zero. . In Zay's case, he's a wearer of many "hats", including CEO of Royal Black Enterprise. He helped do performances for rap superstars, Twista, DTP's Shawnna, Hurricane Chris, J-Kwon, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and others. His expansive resume gives the group notoriety and more importantly, respect from the people they hoped to emulate.

All three members are working hard to carve their musical careers. They are much deserving because they rep the Midwest! They're working to bring success and much respect to I.O.W.A!! They have their dreams, beginning with embarking on their state wide tour and taking that momentum across America, and then the world. Their jams, such as "Imma Do Me" let's the competition know this group stands on its own. You could bump this hit riding to the club or just going out. Another banger, "Stacking Paper" had similarities to vintage, Geto Boys' days. Popularity from these could put Belo Zero on Billboard Top 100! In rap music, radio air play and record sales are the barometers. Expect Belo Zero to set the standard in 2008.
