"PRESS QUOTES"

"Art Damage: you never know what to expect from Mr Damage. Every show is completely different, with a long period of preparation before he even gets on stage. Unpredictable and thought provoking are the best words to describe Art Damage." Joe Costello - CBLocals.com

"Disabled Controls- Art Damage http://www.myspace.com/artdamage000
http://www.isound.com/art_damage
This effort was released by Atlantic Canada's electronic guru in 2003. It features a fine collection of lively, energetic music that glows with feeling. Much like Art Damage's past efforts, this one proves that the man has a true knack for coming up with a great sonic mix. "Controlled Entry" is a lush, sensual opener, while "Modicum" is an expressive and unusual song that brings to mind the early Human League. "Hit on the Head" sounds like some of the stuff that Flood was doing with Depeche Mode in the 90s (which is definitely a compliment), while "Apatheory" is a delightfully minimal track. "Tweaking Fusion" is gloriously glitchy and robotic. Overall, this disc is very intelligently produced, and proves to be an excellent collection of audio landscapes. Sometimes it's quiet, other times gritty, which makes "Disabled Controls" all the more varied and interesting. A great work." NIGHTWAVES webzine

"Disabled Controls-Art Damage- this might sound strange but when i listen to this CD i think of small robotic bugs crawling all over my skin. Darryl MacKinnon concert promoter - VARIOUS

Bio

celebrating 25 years this year, art is well known on Cape Breton for being an iconoclast and a bit of a wild card. The blood performance at an all-ages show caused some uproar, but it's all about the music these days. Electronic listening music... First Canadian act on the headjunk website, art has worked with renowned/reviled super-artist Istvan Kantor and NMG group Phycus. influences include Erik Satie and severed heads, skinny puppy, heaven 17, junkie XL, the Prodigy, flying lizards, orb, orbital, william orbit, charlie parker, buddy rich, amon tobin, stravinsky, prokofiov, speedy j, public enemy, eat static squarepusher. Jango.com says i appeal most to fans of Plaid and Squarepusher. I have a serious mental illness like in the movie the Soloist, only i am of the computer nerd variety.

i'm looking forward to a much more public 26th year.
