The grind to the top is not always the prettiest but is the most fulfilling. No one embodies the hustle and the enthusiasm of a classic come-up story like Artillery Da God. The twenty-five-year-old Richmond native grew up in Church Hill and drew inspiration from his trials and tribulations during that time. An unfortunate prison sentence of six years set back the aspiring artist in his teen years but allowed him to hone his craft for his release in 2011. Humble beginnings on YouTube led to his first full-length project, “Wait Til You Get a Load of Me,” in 2012. After proving to himself he can make solid music, he formed Commando Entertainment and opened First Klazz Studios to further craft aggressive and witty rhymes while giving other local artists a chance to prove themselves. After a rebrand in 2017, “Richmond’s Secret Weapon” released “Silence of the Lambs” and saw success across the US in major markets like Philadelphia and New York. Now, coming off the release of his latest project, “Kingpin of the Inkpen,” Artillery goes overseas in Pordenone, Italy, to showcase his talents on the world stage. As he shoots for success, there is no doubt in his heart and his mind that Artillery will hit his target!
