Art Ranger World

Art Ranger World presents an amazing collection of HIP HOP ART from the mind of talented and controversial Norwegian artist, Ingar Aasen. Superstarcase.org founder, Kenny Beck, is the curator for the art. He believes it needs to be exposed to the Hip Hop world wide community and is planning for exhibitions throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. "The reach of Hip Hop is far and wide and the community needs to be exposed to such innovative works". The Grafton was chosen as a starting point because of its "Hollywood Coolness" and close proximity to many of West Coast Hip Hop's major players. Ingar paints in plastic, which allows him to create some stunning works. Come on out and enjoy the amazing!

After damn near 40 years on the scene, Hip Hop is finally getting it's just due as a world changing, cultural phenomenon, that's seeped into the conciousness and subcousiness of people all over the world, hungry to embrace the music, the "bling bling" culture and, funny enough, right now, the Art.

Art Ranger World, and its' founder & key artist/creator, Ingar Aasen, is from Norway. He has a profoundly deep respect for the culture and wanted to immortalize it and pay tribute to it, the best way he knew how, by creating some phenomenal works that Hip Hop elitist would be proud to have adorn their "crib".

The Art Ranger World Exhibition takes place at The Grafton Hotel, 8462 West Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood, California 90069, from December 7th, 2008 until December 15th, 2008. The exhibition is open from 1:30 to 4:30 pm, Sunday through Sunday.

Actually, it has been quite an experience, hosting Ingar Aasen, Norway's very own Art Ranger. He is a man of many idiosyncratic behaviors. On the one hand, he is a brusque, forest living Neanderthal, who's time it seems, has passed. However on the flip side, once you dig deep into his psyche, presented is this warm, intelligent, cake loving, world class artist. He sits on the precipice of giving privy to the planet for a private viewing of this, his unexpected tribute to the world of Hip Hop. The "bling" society has never had a "champion" like the Art Ranger. His trek into the LA is so surreal that one day, maybe it will be turned into a profound, documentary film. There are, after all many twist and turns to this, his story that lend themselves to a "Chinatown" type tale.

Enter Los Angeles, California. For six years or so, the Art Ranger has been traipsing through LA on a mission to bring his "Hip Hop" art to America. As with many who brave the pitfalls of "dream pursuit" coming here, Ingar became beguiled. All the trappings of this seductive seducer, "The Pig Man", got caught up in the "life". Not lifestyle but the real "life", breathing, shitting, living. On his first foray, he got sucked up into believing the slick cars, cool dress & fancy dinners were the true prerequisites for entree into a world he was so bred and meant to be part of. Tenacity and persistence seared into his personality, he would stubbornly learn that nothing could have been further from the truth. It would be luck and coincidence (perhaps, divine intervention...) would set him on his path to redemption and forgiveness. Of course, if you talk to him and express these sentiments, he'll want to hear none of it. He'll only dismiss the mere thought of such peculiarities, with a few choice words for the purported creator (This is his view. I keep looking to the sky for a giant lightening bolt to come thunderously down and strike him in his ass.). It's not that I'm a cynic or anything, butt...

Surprisingly, there is some serious depth to this strange individual. Facially, he is tattooed to the "nine's", with his latest incarnation being claimed to be his last, we shall see. It seems the "ogre" has some deeply human traits that suggest he's not that bad at all, a little off center but basically a good chap. Now don't get the wrong idea for one moment, or think that I can't distinguish from a sheep (baa!) & a wolf in sheep's clothing (growl...). By the way, keep a close eye on those sheep!

Fast approaching is Ingar Aasen's "World Premier", in America. Big things are in the works for him and this will be the first of what will become many celebrated exhibitions of his Art Ranger World - Tribute to Hip Hop (the "bling society). He has a deep and abiding respect for the culture, which has driven his mind and creativity to such impacting lengths. There are talks going on about possible exhibitions in Las Vegas, New York, China, Japan & uncompromising Paris. Hip Hop spread to every corner of the world, so why wouldn't it be appropriate to share the Art Ranger 107 (As Ingar prefers to be known these days. It says so right smack dab on his face, permanently!). Presentation of his Art Ranger World - Bling Society - Tribute to Hip Hop takes place at the forever cool, ever hip, Grafton Hotel, in the heart of West Hollywood, right in the middle of all the action on the Sunset Strip.
