"Free Music: Arundel – Naturestrip EP"

Brisbane artist Arundel (AKA Lucas Arundell) has dropped his latest 3-track-EP Naturestrip.

Naturestrip is very much nocturnal beast, dark, chilled and tranquil, whisking you off on an aural sashay of beautiful, effervescent and ambient soundscapes through a mixture of fresh minimalistic electronic treatments and raw emotive energy. While the whole EP is wonderful ‘Stormsleeper’ is the stand-out track, personally speaking. It wouldn’t be out-of-place in the company of Groove Armada classic ‘Down at the River‘.

A very worthwhile, creative and engaging release. So, just sit back, relax and take it all in. - Barry Gruff

Bio

Arundel is the name encompassing many of the musical creations of Brisbane (Australia) resident Lucas Arundell. He plays the role of songwriter, composer, arranger and producer, creating a broad range of songs, grooves, soundscapes, remixes and instrumental pieces.

The music is composed with the intentions of allowing the listener to hear it in their own time; their own comfortable environment. Hence, Arundel's music begins in a recorded environment where songs are constructed (and deconstructed) with a clear focus on sonic texture, arrangements, and unique instrumentation and production. Lyrics are often sparse, but voice and vocal content is still fundamental to Arundel's works, often appearing in an unconventional matter. As a result, vocal sound scapes and guest lyricists/performers are often used in conjunction with Arundel's musical imagery and composition.

The live show incorporates laptop electronics, guest vocalists, sweeping effects, guitars and sometimes live drums.

Arundel has spent previous years in Brisbane performing solo and collaborating with artists such as Gladstone & Lochaber, Lost of Love, Madeleine Paige, Hot Liquid Sex and supported local electronic acts like aheadphonehome and Toy Balloon.

In 2011, Arundel will record and release a follow-up EP to 2010's release of 'Naturestrip' and continue to produce and remix many other artists.
