Biography

Asaf Avidan is a young Israeli singer-songwriter, who sounds like nothing you've heard this eon. (no…seriously)
When confronted with writing about his voice, local & international media were in general awe.

"you might think you're listening to Janis Joplin, the kosmic witch, but Asaf is a new messiah!"
- Rolling Stone Mexico

"the greatest voice in music today" - Kipp Elbaum, NYCROCK.COM

"A voice that does not let you stay indifferent"
– Ha'aretz

"When he opens his mouth, people rub their eyes in disbelief – this magic continues all through the show, enchanting every soul in the audience."
– Ma'ariv

"Asaf has it all – the rocker look, unimaginable charisma, great lyrics, and a voice reminiscent of Joplin or Plant!" - 106fm radio

"the lost love child of Dylan & Joplin" – 101fm radio

Asaf started out armed only with his acoustic guitar, and a spoon-full of freshly written words. After touring feverishly before small crowds around the country, he decided to mix in a little more rock and dirt.
The Mojos were brought to life, and a monster was created.
Asaf Avidan & the Mojos sound like a blend of everything we liked about rock in the 60's combined with the right edge of our times.
Captivating audiences of all ages, his lyrics and music strike a global chord.
From his acoustic, armor piercing duets with Hadas Kleinman on the cello, to the body shaking, all-band rock tunes!

In the past couple of months, a general hype in the alternative music scene all around Israel has been spreading, and Asaf & the Mojos played some of the best Venues around, got great radio air time and interviews, and T.V exposure.
After growing interest from the U.S music industry, a U.S tour was organized for October 07. Asaf Avidan & the Mojos were picked as one of six notable mentions out of around 260 bands that played at New York’s M.E.A.N.Y Festival.
Organizers of the festival all hailed Asaf's "unbeliveable set of pipes”!
ARTE , the french leading TV channel is shooting a production about the Israeli art scene, and has interviewed Asaf as one of the leading artists Israel has to offer.
Asaf's EP ("now that you're leaving") is in the process of being signed to an American publishing company, and his new album coming out in april 08!Songs from the upcoming album are already being hailed, and contracts have been written to try to include them as well!

Other than the albums…
On stage, Asaf & the Mojos are a force to be reckoned with!

"This was one of those concerts where you come out drenched to the pit of your soul, full of energy and dead tiered at the same time – I can't remember a time when I was so awe-stricken by a performance!"
–106fm radio

"He burns the stage completely with enchanting words and sounds!"
– Ma'ariv

"I can't help but wonder – am I witnessing the birth of a legend?"
– Ha'aretz

"Amazing and then some! Asaf & the Mojos are here to stay!
Swallow your pride and ask for an autograph , this kid is going to be worth gold"
- Kol Ha'i r

Your Anchor

Written By: Asaf Avidan

Your Anchor

She said you're my gold -
I said no babe, I'm just you're banker
She said you're my chains -
I said no babe I'm you're anchor
I said baby you're my wings -
she said no babe, you're a fish
I said baby you're my dream -
she said no hun, I'm your wish

She said baby you're my river -
I said no babe, I'm you're drain
She said baby you're my color -
I said no babe I'm you're stain
I said baby you're my diamond -
she said no babe, I'm just you're pick
I said baby you are magic -
she said no hun, just a trick

She said baby you can see me -
I said baby I just sense
She said baby you're my castle -
I said no hun, I'm you're fence
I said baby you are lover
she said no hun just your maid
I said baby I adore you -
she said no babe you're just afraid

Reckoning Song

Written By: Asaf Avidan

No more tears, my heart is dry
I don't laugh and I don’t cry
I don’t think about you all the time
But when I do, I wonder why

You had to go out of my door
And leave just like you did before
I know I said that I was sure
But rich men can't imagine poor

One day baby, we'll be old
Oh baby we'll be old
And think of all the stories that we coulda told

Little me and little you
Kept doing all the things they do
They never really think it through
Like I can never think you're true

Here I go again – the blame,
The guilt. the pain, the hurt, the shame.
The founding fathers of our plane
That's stuck in heavy clouds of rain.

One day baby, we'll be old
Oh baby we'll be old
And think of all the stories that we coulda told
