Now for something delightfully different – In a world of young, look-alike and sound-alike, jazz divas exploiting the same old standards from the Great American Songbook, Tarnia Lynn Coppers and her Sassy Catch creation are a siren call to a drowning man.
Channeling her inner Marilyn via Eartha Kit and Jane Russell, the Australian Tarnia (Tat or simply Sassy to her fans) is a voluptuously voiced and voluptuously lovely discovery. Specializing in songs from the fabulous MGM movies of the '50s, Sassy Catch featuring Tat and her boys (double bassist Eliot McCann and pianist Justin Florisson) kick it big time on their new CD Gentlemen, Start Your Engines. The first single released off the CD, Whatever Lola Wants (written by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross for the 1955 Broadway play Damn Yankees and revived most famously in the 1958 film of the same name) has shot to the number 1 spot on the Australian Jazz Vocal Charts!

The delight with Gentlemen, Start Your Engines, is the twinkle that comes through in Tat's big voice – not only does it match the power and depth of the voices from the original hits, but resonates with the pleasure of bringing them to a modern audience. It's easy to imagine Ms. Tat stretched out across a baby grand piano, the warmth in her voice purring its way into your heart, making you long to believe she's singing just for you.
I love catching rising stars on their way to the big time, and the dynamic Sassy Catch trio are on their way. As demonstrated on Gentlemen, Start Your Engines, Sassy Catch is not just a singing sensation, but a full- blooded performance to delight listeners and audiences looking to get out of their rut and swing.
- Paul Bishop, Los Angeles California

In early 2000, vocalist and creator of Sassy Catch, Tarnia Lynn Coppers, was working in Sydney Australia as a successful event contractor in the many events up to and during the 2000 Olympic Games. Tarnia worked with many music companies, events agents and at Movie House, Fox Studios when Star Wars and Moulin Rouge were being made.

Whilst working on films and theatre shows, Tarnia noticed the publics love for film music. Especially after the successful block buster movies Moulin Rouge and Chicago, Tarnia knew she was on a winner and headed to Hollywood.

Tarnia visited film studios, cocktail lounges and took every chance to perform while she spent several months touring and researching the 50's style through America’s hotspots:

New York
Niagara Falls
New Orleans
Southern Louisiana
San Antonio Texas
Las Vegas
