Bio

As Colour Fades is a 5 piece Metalcore/ (Post) Hardcore band from Auckland, New Zealand.

Forming in 2009, As Colour Fades decided to enter into the New Zealand nationwide high school event ‘Smoke Free Rockquest’. Although the event did not go well for them, the members decided to persevere and continue on with the band, not knowing what the future may bring.

In 2010 As Colour Fades established a respected and well-known name in the Auckland Metalcore/Hardcore scene. They travelled around the country playing with well-known local acts such as; 'Of Blackest Oceans', 'Every Man for Himself', 'Cast Them to Ruin', 'East of Eden', and 'Die! Die! Die!' In September 2010, the band had the opportunity to open for the international act ‘Scary Kids Scaring Kids’ on their ‘Final Nightmare Tour’. The summer of 2010 also saw the release of a music video for their song ‘Holding On’, recorded by their good friend Liam Spicer, and release some long awaited merchandise which was quickly snapped up by their loyal fan base.

2011 has seen As Colour Fades release their self-titled 5 song demo, recorded by Luke Cooper at Zeal West. After a well-received release of their demo As Colour Fades played the two day festival event ‘Blur The Lines’, which showcased New Zealand’s finest Hardcore and Metalcore acts such as 'Antagonist A.D', 'In Dread Response' and 'The Mark of Man'. This was quickly followed with As Colour Fades opening for the American Metalcore bands 'Of Mice and Men', and later on ‘The Word Alive’ on their first ever shows in New Zealand.

Since then the band has been constantly playing shows up and down the country solidifying their reputation as one of top up and coming bands in the underground scene. With an anticipated upcoming EP in the mix at the end of 2011, the future is looking bright for As Colour Fades.

As Colour Fades is a band with members who promote good morals and values. They believe that music is a way to express an experience and opinions. They do not condone smoking, excessive drinking or the use of illegal substances but encourage leading a life without them.
