Lyrics

Livin' Within My Means

Written By: Ashland Miller

I work so hard, I work everyday
No time for sleepin’, got money to make
Yet money is something that time creates
Livin’ within my means

Got thirteen bills that I think can wait
Two or three others that I have to pay
But I need some gas to get to work today
Livin’ within my means

(chorus)
Livin’ within my means, means takin’ care of me
Makin’ my own way, not needin’ for anything
I can’t stand not standing on my own two feet
So livin’ within my means is where I mean to be living

Somebody’s callin’ on the telephone
Trying to sell something that I don’t want
Even if I want I still leave it alone
Livin’ within my means

Next weekend a few friends of mine
Are goin’ out of town for some relax time
Me, I’ll find side work for the ladder I climb
Livin’ within my means

(chorus)
Livin’ within my means, means takin’ care of me
Makin’ my own way, not needin’ for anything
I can’t stand not standing on my own two feet
So livin’ within my means is where I mean to be living

I’m gonna have savings one day
I can’t wait

(repeat chorus)

The Want

At times I think of reasons not to fall in love with you
But I can’t pinpoint a single one
For I will spend portions of my lifetime with very few
Close enough to get past the want

At times I try and fight it
When I feel scared inside
choking on feelings
That will push themselves to find
places without reason
As I’m suffering this crime
But I’m falling for you
Even if it’s not right

Romeo loved Juliet this much we know is true
But their forbidden love made one heart from two
If you give your love to me enough to see a lifetime through
I’d die for the chance just to give my life love to you

At times I try and fight it
When I feel scared inside
But I’m choking on these memories
That are pushing me to find
A place without a reason
As I’m suffering this crime
falling in love with you
Even if it’s not right

Hold on, (I want you) hold on, (I need you to) hold on to me (cant you see how much I )
Hold on, hold on
Even if it’s not right

All My Life

Written By: Ashland Miller

It's cold here inside this glass house
I’ve been living in

In the embers to faint to keep me warm
They’re burning out again

At times I’m afraid the roof just might give way
Shatter this menagerie of thought
Then again a clearer mind and a little faith
Could heal this heart

All my life I’ve never known what it means to be free
With the choices all my own and the opportunities I see
So I open up the window and let the cool air in
With the scent of soon approaching fall
I think the open road is a good place to begin
To heal this heart.

The outlook sure seems nice and bright
With the road open wide
And the warm sun penetrates my soul
And time is on my side

And I am not afraid of making my way
Sifting thru these scattered thoughts
I know that my clear mind and my strong faith
Will heal this heart

Now in my life I know what it means to be free
With the choices all my own
Guided by the faith that’s in me

So I open up the windows and let the cool air in
As healing speaks to my soul
I’m giving over so I can begin
To free my heart

I’m free
