When you speak about music that connects to the soul, you need to be on the lookout for upcoming R&B artist Ashleeca. After developing an obsession for music at a young age, Ashleeca started to put pen to paper as a way to express her feelings an innermost thoughts. Her songwriting gave her an escape and a voice to be heard.
The Toronto-born artist has been involved in many musicals, choirs, and dance recitals in her school years. Music has always been her first love and she wants to share her own music with the world.
"I know I can write music music that people can relate and connect to, but vulnerability is something many shy away from because of the fear of being judged. I am ready to be that voice, that allows people to open up and be themselves"
Summer of 2015, Ashleeca was recruited by the Hudson T Soul/Funk Band from Israel to be one of two lead singers to help debut the band in Canada. The shows were very successful and the band was given the opportunity to open and play with accomplished saxophone player, Neil Braithwaite.
Ashleeca is currently working on her first Ep set to be released in 2016.
