Biography

A multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Ashley has been crafting songs for most of her life. In middle school, she started experimenting with recording and overdubbing song parts with a double cassette-equipped family karaoke machine. From there, she began learning the art of effective song production. In high school, one of her songs won a national songwriting competition. Another landed in a made-for-TV movie. She spent the following years playing solo acoustic shows at coffeehouses and bars in town and out of town, including the infamous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN, but she longed to create a more dynamic live presence, complete with a band.

After months of relentless ad-posting and networking efforts, she connected with Troy Dixon. No stranger to the Arizona music scene, Troy has played bass for Gin Blossoms alum Scott Johnson, among many other local favorites. He responded to Ashley's ad, and they performed together on stage for the first time that night. His sense of rhythm and uncanny musical intuitiveness made him a perfect fit, and an instant bond was formed.

Ashley and Troy played shows together as a duo for a year, auditioning different drummers along the way, until they met Bobby Thompson. Having laid down the rhythmic groundwork for several notable acts in Phoenix and Chicago, his flavorful yet tasteful approach to drumming injected an unfaltering, in-the-pocket drive. Musical styles and personalities clicked right away, and pretty soon, a rock-solid, infectiously grooving backbone was in place.

Finally having established a steady lineup years in the making, Ashley has now hit the ground running. Currently she is busy spreading the word through her continually evolving live show, which will soon showcase even more colorful layers by incorporating some of the most cutting edge looping technologies. She is also preparing for the recording of her debut studio album, scheduled for early 2010.

While Ashley may be pressed for press at this juncture, her music speaks for itself, making wild but self-fulfilling claims such as:

"A magnificent amalgamation of sincerity, clever musical craft, and finely-tuned pop sensibility."

"It is at least remotely and at most entirely possible that there has never been a more compelling relationship between melody and lyric than demonstrated by these songs."

"This is an artist who reaches out and moves listeners at the heart, mind, and body levels. If you're not careful, she will strike all three at once."
