"Ashleye Armelin releases new R&B single"

Singer Ashleye Armelin, a native of Gonzales, Texas, released her new R&B single, Name On It, Tuesday. The single is available with all digital retailers and is accompanied by the official video.

This new single is written and arranged by Roc Nation, and is a crossover rather than a typical R&B song.

“Sometimes it’s nice to know people are going through the same exact thing and I am not the only one,” Armelin said. “To know that it gets better. It doesn’t always have to be sad. It’s nice to know sometimes that people are happy, Name On It does that.”

Armelin trademarks herself as a pop-singer while understanding that as an artist she has to constantly fine tune her craft. Armelin enters the studio with the intention of delivering music that crosses barriers and reaches all people.

Prior to this single Armelin worked with Grammy Award-winning producer Bob Robinson (Tim & Bob) on her single One In a Million, and also with the camp of Grammy Award-winning artist and writer, Malik Yusef.

A release party is set for this Friday night, May 28, at the Mandalay Lounge, 200 N. Church St. in downtown Rockford. - Rockriver Times

"New Music: Ashleye Armelin"

Emerging artist Ashleye Armelin is going two-for-two after displaying an aptitude for catchy lyrics on her recent single “Name On It.”

Returning with the follow-up, “Stay Awhile,” the singer/songwriter brings out the sexy on the laid back beat, produced by William Rhodes. While “Name On It” had elements of country and pop, her new release sticks straight to bedroom R&B. With a smoky, sultry vibe, and chopped and screwed style vocal on the hook, Ashleye assures her lover that she’s not going anywhere, and no one else can do him like she can.

“I know I drive you crazy, but that’s because you’re my baby / And ain’t no other lady, keeping you up and ready,” she sings.

The Rockford Auburn High School grad has already collaborated with some of the best names in the music industry, including Grammy Award Winning Producer Bob Robinson (of Tim & Bob) (TLC, Jennifer Lopez) on her single “One in a Million” and also inside the camp of Grammy Award Winning artist and writer Malik Yusef (Kanye West, Beyonce).

Originally from Texas, Ashleye’s latest single “Name on It,” arranged by Roc Nation and produced by CallMe_Parker, is a showcase of her country twang and fresh take on urban pop over a R&B crossover beat. You can check out her brand new music video on MTV and catch her music on iTunes, Pandora and Spotify.

We asked Ashleye to share some of her favorite places in Rockford, a few popular spots and a couple of hidden gems, where she likes to unwind and have fun with her family and friends.

Discovery Center Museum -- "Whenever I get any down time I like to spend it with my daughter and take her to the Discovery Center, a place that's very kid friendly and educational."

Rock River Recreation Path -- "My performances also include a lot of moving and dancing so I have to make sure my endurance is always in top shape. The treadmill can be a little boring for me; so instead, I like to put my headphones on and take a run on the bike path."

Loft 24 -- "Whenever I have a show, interview, appearance, etc., my look is the work of my stylist Doyen Morgan. Along with styling me, she owns a boutique that has amazing clothes at great prices."

Jax Pub & Grill -- “Whenever my friends and I want to get out to have some fun our favorite spot to go is Jax because the environment is great and the DJs are super dope."

Polish Deli -- "If you're looking for a great inexpensive meal, with the best cheese fries in town... this is the place to go! If you didn't know, now you know." - Go Rockford

"Auburn High School Grad Opens for Nelly"

One of the things I miss most about living in Minnesota is the live music scene; most of my weekends were spent at small, intimate venues waiting for the artists to come off stage so I could buy them a drink and get a little hang time after the show. One of those musicians, Atmosphere, has gone on to find fame around the country and the world.
That could be the next step for Auburn High School grad, Ashley Armelin, who, according to WIFR, opened for Nelly at the Coronado last night (October 9th).

Bio

Born May 25 in Gonzales, Texas, Ashleye Armelin, a once sheepish and reserved child spent most of her early childhood years concealing her vocal talents from family and friends. Only willing to harmonize with her mother and other church choir members, Ashleye shied away from the center stage, often avoiding the spotlight.

Indebted to a nurturing pastor who recognized her extraordinary talents, Ashleye often relives the unforgettable moment that connected her with her life’s purpose. Born to serenade the world, Ashleye maintains that had it not been for her pastor forcing her to lead her first solo she is unsure if she would’ve ever come out of her shell. Declaring, “At that moment I knew I needed to be heard, I wanted to be heard.”

Never losing sight of her destiny, Ashleye took full advantage of the opportunity presented to her when her family relocated from Texas to Rockford, IL. Being accepted into the most prestigious Creative and Performing Arts Program, (previously attended by Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child) Rockford had to offer; Ashleye started her sophomore year at Auburn High school, fixated on her dreams of becoming a globally recognized recording artist.

It was at Auburn High School, at the tender age of 16, Ashleye was given a stage to sparkle! In the company of other exceptionally talented students and faculty members Ashleye spent an incalculable amount of time honing and refining her vocal and performance skills. A once bashful and timid child morphed into a commanding and confident singer, launching a YouTube channel to showcase her maturation as a performer. Married to her aspirations of being a songstress, Ashleye devoted her energy to building her brand, proclaiming, “I started posting YouTube videos to gain an audience.” Affirming she was journeying down the right path, her YouTube videos captured the attention of new fans and music producers.

Ashleye's desire to entertain comes through loud and clear on her debut single, Name On It.” Name On It, written and arranged by Roc Nation and produced by CallMe_Parker is a showcase for this Texas native as it highlights her country twang, and fresh take on urban pop over a R&B crossover beat. Understanding that as an artist she must constantly fine tune her craft, Ashleye always enters the studio with the intention of delivering exceptional music that is wealthy enough in sound to cross sectors and reach all people. "I make music about how I'm feeling, and I know someone out there is going through the same thing I'm going through at some point in time. It's dope that my fans and I are so in tune with each other, so I just want them to know it doesn't always have to end bad,” Ashleye says about Name On It.

Collaborating with some of the best names in the music industry, Ashleye had the honor of working intensely with Grammy Award Winning Producer Bob Robinson (of Tim & Bob) (TLC, Jennifer Lopez) on her earlier single “One in a Million” and also inside the camp of Grammy Award Winning Artist and Writer Malik Yusef (Kanye West, Beyonce). Her merger with these elites taught Ashleye how imperative it that artist like herself have the freedom to be the possessor of their creative vision. In command of her own fate, Ashleye has full harness of her purpose and she is determined to share her gift with the world.
