Ashley Jane

Hailing from Peterborough Ontario, Ashley Jane’s songs are anything but small town sound. Although Jane’s album is self titled, this songstress doesn’t work solo.

The album was constructed with the help of Jane’s producer/friend/life mentor Peter St. Laurent, who also performs alongside her onstage. With Toronto being their current dwelling, the duo are set to start playing shows throughout the city to promote the new album, with the cd launch already under their belt at Kensington market’s popular restaurant/bar, Supermarket.

Following the lyric inspiration of relationship situations common of many artists, Jane’s album is perfect for those going through multiple different relationship scenarios.

Ranging from the playful teasing of modern day social truths, such as ‘Txt msg Breakup‘, to the upbeat and promising sounds of moving on from such tragic events as found in ‘Good 2 C U.’ My favorite, however, lies in the powerful ballad ‘Inhale and Smile,’ a phrase that all of us should probably put into everyday practice.

“Although Peter wrote most of the songs (except for ‘Txt msg Breakup’ and co-writing ‘Can’t go back’), I felt as if I were going through the emotions of each one while I sang them,” says Jane. I myself also found many that

I can relate to, both past and present. Whatever mood or relationship situation you happen to be in, Jane’s song’s are sure to make you take a deep inhale, and smile.
