"Introducing Ashley Noot"

Houston, Texas exports a precious cargo of musical talent to UK shores as singer/song-writer, Ashley Noot, launches her exciting debut album, Throwing Away Your Love Songs on 1 February 2011. A beautiful collection of twelve original pennings from this quirky songbird, Throwing Away Your Love Songs, promises to earn its rightful place alongside some of the classic guitar based indie/pop albums of our time.
Young, visually captivating and musically gifted, Ashley Noot, is fast becoming a gleaming star in the world of guitar-based pop. With an outstanding ability to weave wit and poignancy throughout her lyrical creations, which she then unleashes through her spectacular crystal-clear vocals, Ashley is snow-balling an impressive fan-base on both sides of the pond.
Ms Noot has a penchant for punchy love-songs, which focus on relationship break-ups, with her ex-boyfriend saying, “Don’t break up with Ashley, she’ll write a song about it!” Throwing Away Your Love Songs, is a diverse musical expression traversing all dimensions of this topic – a collection of x12 stand-alone singles which jigsaw harmoniously together to form an almighty anthology of sound. The title track is highly reminiscent of an upbeat version of Peggy Lee’s, Fever. Fusing guitar pop with epic big band instrumentals and mellow-dramatic vocals, the track would be well placed as the centre-piece of a west-end cabaret. A stark contrast to the raw, rocky guitar riffs of Matthew and Better Friends Than Lovers or the punchy dominant determination of Tonight.
Born in St Louis and later moving to Houston, this spirited bundle of talent had a guitar in her hand from the age of 8 and was taking vocal lessons with renowned vocal coach, Debbie Beinhorn by the time she was 15-years. In 2002, Ashley began working on her demo with Debbie and Scott Mochon of Millennium Music in Houston. She performed gigs at local bars and restaurants in Houston and became a featured artist at the Legacy Showroom in High Point.
Ashley was introduced to renowned UK producer, John Ravenhall, which led to an instantaneous signing to his label Johnny Boy Records. John jetted Ashley to Denmark and teamed her with EMI writer, John Gordon. The result was explosive, with Gordon proving to be the perfect balance as a writing and sparring partne.
John Ravenhall then took the album of raw tracks over to Chicago to team up with the best of Chicago's finest musicians, before finally mixing the album with the legendary mix engineer Larry Sturm (Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Timbaland)
The result is an outstanding collection of truly superb songs Throwing Away Your Love Songs, combines the glorious drama of the Chicago Philharmonic (on three tracks), fused with the raw element of guitar based production – making this an absolute magnificent journey of melodic emotion. Delivering delicious bursts of original sound with every slice is serves, Throwing Away Your Love Songs, is nothing short of a purely great guitar based pop album.
In 2011, Ashely Noot, will embark on a UK tour to promote this outstanding album. Check out her MySpace for details of live gig dates: www.myspace.com/ashleynoot
