Bio

After a successfull year in 2006 finishing second in the Murphy's Live compitition, a release of a double A side single, containing two diverse, but equally explosive songs titled "Victoria" and "I've Got Something you Like", and taking part in the prestige Hard Working Class Hereo's, the Mute have spent the opening months of 2007 putting the finishing touches on their forthing coming album. "Danse Macabre" has been linked with Howie Weinberg who has worked with Modest Mouse on "We were dead before the ship even sank" and "Good news for people who love bad news" which is set for release later this fall...... Described by Hotpress' Steve Cummins as follows;

"The energy and punch they put into their set was nothing short of invigorating. Sitting somewhere between Arcade Fire and Echo & The Bunnymen, songs like "I Prefer Lies" and the beautiful "Victoria" are stunning examples of the quality of the songs in their cannon, a brooding "I Have Something you Like" only adds to the sense we are witnessing something special"

Having played with indie luminaries such as Gorkys Zygotic Mynci, Ten Speed Racer and Republic of Loose, the band were also included in the line up for Hard Working Class Heroes festival in 2005 and 2006. A live DVD recorded on home turf at The Forum in Waterford, will be launched in conjunction with their new album so fans will get a chance to see how the band bring their unique sound infront of a live audience.

With influences ranging from acts as diverse as Morrissey to Josh Rouse, their brand of guitar driven melodies gives them a unique sound, incomparable to any of their contemporaries.
