Ashley Spencer has fearlessly embraced her unique characteristics, powerful voice and multi-talented personality to bring something different to the soul music scene. After recently moving from Dallas to Chicago, it took her only three months to become immersed in the Chicago Blues scene as a vocalist; earning the respect of several Chicago Blues local legends. She’s had the opportunity to sing with Lurrie Bell, Big Time Sarah, J.W. Williams, Linsey Alexander, Carlos Showers, ‘Lil Ed, Toronzo Canon, Billy Branch, and there’s always more on her radar.
Writing poetry since six years of age, she has always had a natural flow for the rhythm of words. Ashley Spencer brings an intense passion to her work, both lyrically and musically. She combines classic soul, neo-soul, jazz, funk, blues, commercial writing, and a powerful voice to create something uniquely her own. It has been said about Ashley’s musical talent, “These songs don’t fit into one genre. It’s ‘Ashley Spencer’, that’s what it is.” Her music has also been dubbed by listeners as, “a breath of fresh air.”
