Ashlie Marie

In the world of success and beauty it is easy to lose your identity, and bask in the accolades. It’s easier to put on a fake expression of a perfect role than it is to let down one’s guard and become vulnerable. Though singer/songwriter/model Ashlie Marie realizes that she would look more like a star if she acted like every part of her life was in order.

Born in Akron, Ohio. She was friends with many teenage girls who had suffered some form of abuse, whether it be physical, sexual, or from battered homes. She could see first hand the violation of trust her friends had with the ones closest to them. All this happening in the very place where they should have felt safe and secure - the home.

Around age of sixteen she began attending church. During that time Ashlie Marie learned so much, to the point that she decided to make a change in her life. Two days before her sixteenth birthday, she surrendered all of herself to God and asked Jesus into her heart. From those beginnings God opened a new chapter. Ashlie asked God to mend her broken heart and renew her mind. To give her burdens for her friends over to him and begin afresh.

Ashlie Marie begin to get involved with the church’s worship group, and soon found herself leading worship in front of the congregation on Wednesday nights and some Sundays. During that time she felt a tug on her heart, that God was calling her to use the gifts He's given her to reach out and share his love.

Throughout this time of growth she was modeling and studying singing, and eventually teaching these subjects at Patti Schaeffer's School of Arts. Though rewarding, those pursuits still weren’t enough for her. Ashlie could see that there was more to life, and felt a call to reach out to others.

Things have come full circle - Ashlie Marie have gone from Runway to Center Stage. Her calling is to let young men and women know that no matter where they have come from or what has happened to them in the past, they are not defeated in this journey of life; to stand in confidence knowing they can get through what ever it is that they have been hurt by, and go on to build a new life.

With this renewed conviction Ashlie continues working to better herself musically; letting God set the pace of her life, and not allowing impatience to get the best of her. Her heart's desire is for God to use her as a vessel for His will, wherever it may lead.

Ashlie Marie speaks through song, praying that these words will reach out to those in need. She hopes in this journey there will be a time for her to also share with you as well.
