Bio

Sometimes you just really can’t be sure why God takes you on the journey that He does, with all of its twists, turns and detours. But there’s something about knowing that every step of that journey has a specifically designed purpose.

Ashlyn formed in the fall of 2007 after Lisa was asked to play some originals at a few coffee houses and local concerts. She enlisted the help of her childhood friend Drew, who also happened to be an amazing drummer. At the same time, both started attending Discovery Church in South Jersey where they met Chris and Jon. The four soon became the house worship band at church and from there began to play other venues and writing music together.

As a band, their journey has taken them all over the eastern US from small churches, coffee houses and youth events, to Nashville and the Alive Festival in Ohio. Recent accomplishments include winning the FAVORITE BAND of SOUTH JERSEY in 2010 as well as the winner of 2011 PHILLY's BATTLE OF CHRISTIAN BANDS. These are in addition to being awarded LIFT FM 98.5's BLAST AT THE BEACH Battle of the Bands winner, which was an opening event for Tenth Ave North. They have spent way too much time in a van, way too much money at Wawa, and they have loved every minute of it.

Ashlyn is not just about entertaining people and music that sounds good. They love to write about real life, struggle and imperfection – and God’s love regardless. Completely aware of what they lack, they can only hope to be honest and transparent and to somehow connect people to the truth that they are loved.
