"Local Band on the Rise"

Three inspired and talented young men make up the indie folk band known as Ashlyn Maine.

Ashlyn Maine has a sound comparable to the popular English folk rock band Mumford & Sons. Their many influences include, but are not limited to: City and Colour, Freelance Whales, Horse Feathers, Local Natives and Death Cab for Cutie.

The three band members are Jake England, Aaron Myers and Jake Hall. They have been together for about a year. England plays guitar and sings lead vocals, Myers plays mandolin along with the banjo and sings back up vocals, and Hall plays the upright bass and cello and also sings back up vocals.

Since they have been together they have completed about 12 original songs. As a group they have had a few rough patches and a hard time compromising in order to keep a common goal amongst themselves, however, they continuously work to keep the peace and keep their future in mind.

“We play because we can’t see ourselves doing anything else but music,” Myers said. In the next few years the guys hope to have two albums completed and have them available on iTunes. They are looking to get signed with a record label as soon as possible and dream of being world famous by the end of their careers.

Ashlyn Maine, though young, has great potential. With their new and fresh ideas they quickly capture the audience’s attention and hold it. They are talented musicians for sure, but what will make them great is their music’s honest emotion that the listener can feel. After all, emotion is what separates the good bands from the great ones. - The Charger Times

Bio

Ashlyn Maine is an Indie Folk band born out of the backwoods of Madison County, Alabama in a sleepy and small community known as Harvest. Influenced by bands such as City and Colour, Brand New, and Mumford and Sons, Ashlyn Maine has slowly and steadily been making a name for themselves in the North Alabama area.

Formed in mid 2011, Ashlyn Maine has been touring extensively in the North Alabama area and recording in both home-grown and professional studios. The band has also had their debut LP titled “Cigar Clouds” chart in the top 40 on the Amazon.com folk category. Their hit songs “The Weather on Fridays” and “Ben City” have also been featured on WTAK 106.1 FM in Huntsville, Alabama, as well as WFMH Big 95.5 FM in Russellville, Alabama.

Ashlyn Maine have also been staking a claim online, by streaming their practices on a weekly basis. The band has made fans worldwide in places like Norway and Germany. Some of their online streams have also gotten creative, having streamed wirelessly in places like public parking lots in Madison, Alabama.

When not writing or recording music, the band enjoys playing baseball, going fishing, watching hockey playing video games, and attending sporting events. But their first love will always be their folk music, which they hope you can come experience live very soon.
