"REVIEW: ‘Falling ft. Lokka’ by Asmodelle"

A recently released track “Falling ft. Lokka” by Electronic music artist Asmodelle features a catchy tune that complements the female vocals. Her track does give the illusion of falling–free falling into the perfect layers of beats and melody. The dreamy song illustrates Asmodelle’s artistry and identity, present a laid back trance mix that will still make people dance.

Former dancer Asmodelle became an Electronic music artist during her stay in Japan. She is now a dedicated electronic composer with over 300 compositions, having composed tracks for film, art installations, events and albums. Her music is described as Dance, Electronica, Chillout to Ambient or even Experimental, depending on the track.

Her track “Hybrid,” received the award for Best Instrumental Music Video – Australia 2012 during the Australian Independent Music Video Awards. - The Infinity List

"Asmodelle: “Grooveatropolis” – an excellent blend of today’s transformational dance music!"

“Grooveatropolis” is the 5th album by Australian electronic music composer Asmodelle, but it’s her first dance album, and contains a mix of house music, club dance and trance, sticking to a tempo on around 138 BPM. Asmodelle who plays and performs electronic music, considers herself a composer, and not a producer. “Grooveatropolis” does make use of samples, but they were created by Asmodelle herself!

Asmodelle, a winner of the Australian Independent Music Video Awards, uses both old school physical synths, and software based synths as well as an electric piano. In an ocean of music sameness there are not many artists who can claim a distinct sound and original approach in their work, especially in the electronic genres, where it is extremely difficult to distinguish yourself using sounds and samples readily available to the masses. More often than not, the artist’s inability to distinguish him or herself is not because of lack of talent or skill. - Jamsphere

"ALBUM REVIEW: Grooveatropolis by Asmodelle"

Overall, this is a very good album of electronica music that showcases Asmodelle’s talent for writing and producing excellent trance and house tracks that are perfect for the dancefloor. Although they are all instrumentals, Asmodelle creates variety through tempo, texture and style from track to track making it good just for listening as well as ideal club tracks. I’d expect her rise to major success to continue with this release. - The Faulkner Review

"Asmodelle - Grooveatropolis Vol. 1"

‘Grooveatropolis,’ or ‘Groove City,’ is a dance record that toys with house, club, and trance styles. It’s Asmodelle’s fifth studio effort, but her first dance album. She’s an award-winning Australian artist known for her instrumentals, music videos, and prowess behind a multiple keyboard synthesizer. ‘Grooveatropolis’ is one of those records that actually cites an average BPM, (Beats Per Minute) thus allowing DJ’s and club owners to cherry pick its songs based on what they need that evening or in that set.

As aforementioned, ‘Grooveatropolis’ is an extensive effort. It’s ten original songs. The songs aren’t playing around, either. They’re usually at least six minutes long, if not longer. - Tilting Windmills Studios - Independent Spotlight

"Asmodelle releases new LP ‘Grooveatropolis’"

The Australian electronica composer known as Asmodelle has released her latest LP record album, titled, “Grooveatropolis.” The album has been released on the Night Star Pictures music record label. It is comprised of 10 original electronic dance music tracks for an approximate total listening time of over an hour. It has an approximate average tempo of 138 beats per minute, making for a vivacious and upbeat collection of EDM music. “Grooveatropolis” is a modern EDM record with all the qualities of contemporary house music, as well as one which retains those traits familiar to longtime fans of the genre.

“Grooveatropolis” (or “groove metropolis”) is the fifth full-length record from Asmodelle and her first dance album. She cites as main artistic influences artists such as Armand Van Helden, Joris Voorn, Paul Oakenfold, and Dave Pearce. Her official website also mentions Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Boards of Canada, Massive Attack, and Aphex Twin. As a result of this broad musical interest, she creates music in-between usual categories. Her songs often cross the borders of electronica music with “chillout,” ambient, house, trance, and experimental tracks.

A former dancer, Asmodelle is a classically trained musician who began composing original music after spending time in Japan’s burgeoning EDM scene in the late 1990s. Since that time, Asmodelle has written and produced over 300 original songs for film, art, events, clubs, and music releases. One of her instrumental tracks received the AIMVA’s Best Independent Music Video Award in 2012. Much of her music is recorded live. She often creates her samples personally and uses physical synth instruments as well as virtual ones.

In addition to her successful music career, Asmodelle is also an artist, performer, model, and actress.

“Grooveatropolis” by Asmodelle is available online worldwide.

"Transelectrix review by 3000 Records"

PRESS RELEASE by 3000 RECORDS

SUBJECT:

Asmodelle Has Created An Album That Is Synth Pop To The Core With A Very Human Element!

SUMMARY:

Australian born composer Asmodelle has dedicated her life to electronic music, and is committed to help evolve the genre. Haunting, beat driven, dancable, and always unique tracks fill her latest release titled "Transelectrix". The music is perfect for those who like all different styles of electronic music. The entirely instrumental album uses synthesizers as its voice and possesses a very organic feel throughout.

BODY:

New South Wales, Australia, August 8, 2011 - Former dancer and actress turned electronic music artist Asmodelle has always brought her own form of creativity to her work. Breaking into the electronic music industry after living in Japan during the early 90's, she has been a large part of the industry ever since. Over the years she has created hundreds of compositions including movie soundtracks, art installations, chill out events, and most recently albums. Her commercial success began while working with Night Star Pictures Pty. Ltd doing film soundtracks. The company has since released three of her discs. Actively involved in the Australian music scene as well as oversees, Asmodelle can be found scattered all over the world wide web in the form of pictures and teasers of her music. Released in June, 2011 "Transelectrix" is the perfect sample of her experience in the industry and the culmination of an artist who has dedicated their vast pool of talent to electronica.

Possibly the most unique thing about Asmodelle is her ability to create electronic music without it sounding too mechanical. Her samples fit into the music seamlessly and create an ambiance that doesn't feel like its being guided by a computer. Although she was taught classical music, it's difficult to tell except for her ability to improvise and use layered elements to enhance her modern sounds. Her approach to recording also reflects her love for the organic side of electronic music. Equipped with the medium Night Star Pictures studio, Asmodelle tends to use real synthesizers as opposed to software versions. She describes her recording preferences as 'old school' in that the real synthesizers and human production is crucial to her form of music. "Transelectrix" is the perfect example of an album produced by a master of their craft; an artist who has explored countless options within the vein of electronica and has created a masterpiece.

Asmodelle and Night Star Productions are currently working on a series of videos to coincide with the tracks on "Transelectrix". The video recording and also the release of an upcoming film soundtrack leaves Asmodelle with little time to book gigs, but expect the studio work to be perfectly engineered. The album can be found on virtually any online music site including iTunes and Amazon, while physical copies of the album can be found on CDBaby, CDUniverse, or her website. While you're there you can check out Asmodelle's previous releases including her chill first album "Electronic Mischief" or her thought provoking ambient release titled "Dark Universe".

Be sure to watch for Asmodelle tour dates and the anticipated video releases for "Transelectrix". In addition, watch for her third release to be her most energetic and the record DJs are spinning in clubs all over the globe.

"Evil Sponge Review"

There are two definitions of the term "minimal" when it is applied to music. Firstly there is minimal in the sense of what Eno or Stars of the Lid do; that is, music wherein the spaces between the notes is as important as the notes themselves. This is the classic definition of "ambient". However, there is another definition of minimal that involves using only the bare minimum necessary to convey your point, without unnecessary ornamentation. The entire slowcore genre is based upon this definition of minimal, with Low pretty much exemplifying the usage. Low played only what needed to be played, nothing more, nothing less. Please note that these two definitions are not contradictory, they exist in a continuum, with most bands taking a little of A and a little of B.

I say this because on Electronic Mischief, Asmodelle makes minimal electronica. This music is not always ambient, in fact i find that when she is at her best she is making music more reminiscent of early-90s trance (notice the subtle reference to Ultramarine on The Laughter of Children). However, Asmodelle does not use any more sounds than are necessary, placing her largely in column B, above. This is electronic music without ornamentation, stripped down to a skeletal level of simple beats and tight melodies. And it really works.

Asmodelle is actually the Australian actress/model/writer/DJ Estelle Asmodelle. Ms. Asmodelle is a general busybody, and i cannot speak to the rest of her varied output, but i do find her electronic music to be worthwhile.

As i said, this is very minimal techno. The beats are not throbbing rave floor stompers, instead they are subtle yet work perfectly fine for head nodding, tapping your feet, and driving the songs along. Asmodelle couples these with some light melodies and an occasional sample – maybe a short spoken phrase, the tinkling of a bell, or strange sci-fi synth tones.

Ambient Repairer is my favorite song here. In this tune, keys tinkle against a soaring whoosh of synths. This is a modern electronic homage to Vangelis, Edgar Froese, and other early synth pioneers. The song is only 3:44, which is insanely short for that style (Tangerine Dream used to do 30 minute synth opuses), but it really works. It's a nice little throwback piece. Also of interest is Da (Boom Da), which takes the synths in a more modern direction by making something that is not unlike Daft Punk. Now, this is a lot mellower than Daft Punk, but the driving synths are really similar.

Those might be the standout tracks, but there is a lot to like here. Electronic Mischief is an enjoyable collection of mellow, minimal electronica. Asmodelle is not breaking any new boundaries here, and yet her work is delightfully outside the ever changing mainstream of electronic – no fractured, stuttering, dubstep beats here! All the same, this is a rather enjoyable album. If, like me, you enjoyed the electronica of the 1990s, then Electronic Mischief is an album to check out. - Evil Sponge

"ASMODELLE: Asmelectrix"

Asmodelle is Estelle Asmodelle, an Australian electronic composer.

The songs here run the gamut from downbeat techno to chill-out. The common thread is a dedication to refreshing sonics.

The electronics are crisp and versatile. Using few texturals, Asmodelle focuses on delineating songs with strong lead melodies that feature auxiliary embellishment by additional electronics. Nimble-fingered keyboards deliver crafty riffs that gradually flow through mutations rather than simply endlessly cycle themselves. While an amount of looping is utilized, the loops tend to subtly change with each orbit, pushing the melodies into delightful transformations.

Bouncy e-perc is employed to give the melodies agile propulsion. These rhythms rarely become overly intricate, settling into languid grooves.

There are no vocals.

While there are a few downbeat pieces, most of these compositions fall into the techno chill-out class. Dub sensibilities inject a quirky dance flair that holds up throughout the album. Most of the melodies are energetic with a laid-back disposition, instilling animation without being too hyper about it. And then there are tracks in which the relaxation overwhelms even the rhythmics. - Sonic Curiosity

Bio

The music is usually played on multiple keyboard synths and has a real NOW sound. Her style is versatile, ranging from: ambient, electronica, chillout and more recently dance and trance. Asmodelle uses both old school physical synths, and software based synths and an electric piano.

Asmodelle was winner of the Australian Independent Music Video Awards in 2012 for 'Hybrid' from the album Asmelectrix. In 2015 Asmodelle was a Bronze Medal winner for her dance album, "Grooveatropolis Vol. I" at the Global Music Awards. In October 2015 Asmodelle reached #1 in the world on Reverbnation for electronic music artist.

A classically trained musician, Asmodelle has carved out her own niche in electronic sound, which is very different to her contemporaries.

Asmodelle is based in the Central Coast of Australia and does not perform very often, but when she does it is a memorable event.

In her early days at university Asmodelle had an experimental music ensemble which performed in art galleries and at experimental art events; then, in the 80s Asmodelle got involved in the Tokyo electronic music scene and has been an electronic music composer since that time.

So Asmodelle brings a unique combination of experience to her music, and is a gifted musician and a talented technician, a vital combination for great electronic compositions.

She has been model, performer and an actress, but is always a musician. Her influences are: Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Boards of Canada, Massive Attack, Ministry of Sound Dance music compilations, Aphex Twin, Gatecrasher compilations, and many electronic artists.
