""Sordid Boys Dead On In Debut Release""

"This week features one of the finest debut releases from any non-signed act in the country in my recent memory. Local Hard Rock/Progressive heavy hitters A Sordid Story released "Darkest Deep". A collection of serious songs with a strong emotional pull worthy of considerable attention. The songs feature an engaging intimacy at first listen while, slowly building on a collection of thunderous rhythms, strong musicianship, and melodic structures. The album opens with a truely original compostition in "4 Letter Word."It's here that their 70's prog roots shine best. Legendary producer Erwin Musper (Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Metallica) does a masterful job of mixing the layers of bass, synth, and guitars tucking the vocal right into the sonic void creating an almost spiral effect, that builds on the mounting tension. The tracks are very diverse from the sludgy heaviness of the impressive 6/8 meter of "Plastic" & "The Slump", to the uplifting Allman Brothers tinged "Sandcastle" & the wet, acoustic opus of "8/18". The album's title track "Darkest Deep" burns, and cracks as if the world might be coming to an end, leaving only one question to ponder until the foursome strikes again. "Where will they be......"

Bio

"The one thing that sets this band aside from others is our ability to grow without compromise. Many artists enter into binding genres that etch in stone their future direction. We've always believed if you don't limit your options, then fans will never be dissapointed by every changing direction. Our main goal is to make honest, technical , melodic, heavy music, that has social and spiritual relevance, to allow the listener to be drawn in at their own pace. We're only interested in embracing these ideas and seeing where they will take us." AK - A Sordid Story
